Love Is War (Sequel To Gone)

Chapter 8: Mysterious Rider.

Hiccup and Astrid hop on Toothless and take off to the skies.

"So will you finally listen?"

"Your making do this."

Astrid explains everything that happened. The whole time, Hiccup was silent. "So you lied?"

"Yeah."

"Why didn't you tell the truth?"

"Because... I... Ruffnut... I don't know!'

"I think I know."

"Oh really..."

"Yeah. I think that your are embarrassed about how you feel."

"Okay than. But I'm really sorry that you heard that. I never meant a thing."

"Oh really?" He asks and he looks back and smiles at her. That was the first time in two years that he smiled at her.

"Okay maybe not everything."

"Don't blame you."

"What?" Her smile disappears and so does Hiccups.

"I said I don't blame you. I have never had someone care about other than my mother who I never knew or Toothless."

"Hiccup. You dad cares about you. Berk cares about you. I care about you."

"No. They "care" about me because I saved them."

"That is not true! I don't care that you saved Berk. I care that your listening to me and you are still here with us. I never told you this but after your defeated the Red Death, Gobber said that it wasn't' talk great chance that you would survive. I was devastated.

I thought you were leaving us. When I found out that you heard what I said to Ruffnut, I thought you would hate me for ever and I couldn't stand the feeling of you ignoring me for the rest of our lives."

"Your not lying again are you?"

Astrid punches his shoulder.

"Ow! What was that for?"

"That is for thinking that I would lie to you again." She grabs his tunic and kisses him. She let's go of him and he has a huge smile on his face. "And that... Was for everything else."

"I could've guessed that."

"Lay down."

"What?"

"Lay down. I want to play with your hair."

"Okay..." He lays down and puts his head in her lap and closes his eyes.

After a while, Toothless brings them up into the clouds. "Its beautiful up here."

"Yea it is."

"Hiccup." Astrid says, sounding panicked.

Hiccup sits up andsees what she was panicked about.

A mysterious rider is on a dragon. They are staring at them. The person is wearing a mask. Toothless stops and flaps his wings so they stay in one place.

The next thing that happens shockes them all.

6:00 p.m.

My mom tells me to take Thumper outside because he was inside by himself. I walk down into the basement and I open the cage. He comes over to me. He has taken a liking to me since Flower left us. I take him outside. 

2 hour pass.

I am was in the basement watching Netflix when I remember that Thumper is outside. I pause it a walk over to the cage and I walk outside. Either it was really dark out or me because I couldn't see his white fur bouncing around in the cage.

I walk into the rustic room and ask my sister if she brought him inside and she said no. I tell my dad that he isn't outside or in the inside cage. He told me to look in the basement while him and my older sister look outside.

I look through the whole basement and no bunny. My dad comes by the door.

"Don't bother looking anymore. He was taken by an animal." Then is when I start crying. We tell my mom and it is the same reaction to when Flower left.

I will always fell the guilt about forgetting him outside.
