Love Is War (Sequel To Gone)

Chapter 13: Toothless!

Valka looks to the side and looks out to the sea. A look of shock crosses her ace and runs to the ledge. Stoick follows and Hiccup follows after the two. What they see could change everything. 

Boats, hundreds. Traps, thousands. People, millions. Mysterious people, one.

"Drago Bludvist" says Stoick angrily.

"Who?" asks Hiccup.

"Drago Bludvist. Dragon trapper. He tried to persuade me to use his gadgets to capture dragon years ago. I declined and he swore to his life he would get me back for saying no. He his a mad man." Said Stoick.

"He can't be reasoned with."

"But we are doing this together. As a family." Says Stoick.

"But maybe I can reason with him!"

"You can't ever reason with him!" Says Stoick, turning to look at Hiccup and shock and angry crossing over his face.

"If I can change your mid, then I can change his." Says Hiccup.

"No. You can't! Hiccup. I can't afford to lose you." Says Valka.

"Just let me try. If he tries to kill me, Dad, you can come and help. Just try and take out his men." says Hiccup with a look of hope spreading across his face.

Stoick hesitates. He looks over a Valka and she gives a weak smile. Stoick looks back over at Hiccup."Fine. But if you get in trouble, you get out of there."

They get out of there on their dragons and Hiccup sees four dragons in the air. Gronkle, Monstrous Nightmare, Hiddeuos Zippleback, and a Deadly Nadder. He looks closer and sees riders.  Fishlegs, Snotlout, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, and Astrid.

Hiccup likes to have his helmet on when he flies. Not for any reason though. But guessing he has it on now, he doesn't think that they will notice her. But then he remembers the bright red tainfin.

Drago's men run to the snowy beach and trap dragons. Hiccup drives and Toothless shoots at the traps, letting the dragons go. He stops and looks for any closed traps. Then he hears something behind him. He turns around and sees Astrid.

"Where have you been?" asks Hiccup. Astrid seems to falter to answering his question but quickly recovers, hoping, Hiccup didn't notice.

"Oh... um..."

"Hiccup!"

Hiccup turns his head and sees the twins coming up behind them. 

Thank god! Thinks Astrid.

"What?"

"How come you never told us you had a mother?" asks Tuffnut.

"How am I supposed to know?"

Hiccup looks down and sees more dragons trapped. "You guys fly over and free the dragons from under the traps. I have to go do something." With that, Hiccup flies off. He lands where he sees a tall broad man with a black cloak. He figures this is Drago.

Hiccup takes off his helmet when Drago sees him. He smirks.

"So. This is this best Stoick could do, eh?" he says in a gruff voice, staring at Hiccup. "And you call yourself the dragon conqueror."

Hiccup's confused about how he heard about that but shrugs it off.

"The dragons belong to the alpha dragon." Says Hiccup.

"Then it's clear we have a challenge." Drago lifts a staff he cares and swings it around his head. By a big boat, the water starts to get uneven. A huge black dragon, just like the king, comes out through the water.

"Another one?" asks Hiccup surprised. The black alpha walks to shore and the two alpha dragon fight each other. 

Drago raises his staff and swings it at Hiccup, causing Hiccup to fall.

"I have heard about you." Drago towers over Hiccup. "And I have waited a long while for this."  He raises his staff over his head and prepares to swing when Toothless jumps and tackles Drago to the ground and standing in front of Hiccup, growling at Drago.

"Oh I see how it is." He raises his staff yet again, swinging it around his head and yelling. The black alpha stabs the white one with his tusk and falls to the ground as the Black one, lets out a screech. Toothless shakes his head. As if to block out the noise, but soon falls under the control of the alpha dragon.

Toothless turns to look at Hiccup, green eyes turned to slits. He growls at Hiccup, walking towards him.

"W-what are you doing? Knock it off!" Says Hiccup backing up. "Stop! Snap out of it!" Toothless opens his mouth and inside becomes blue. "Toothless! No! Toothless!" 

Hiccup's back hits the ice and stares, terrified at his dragon. He sees something out of the corner of his eye and sees his dad. Running towards him.

"Stop!" Yells Hiccup. 

Stoick is almost there when...

CRACK!

Toothless fires...

HA HA!
