"why did you bring him here?" chanhee asked when eric showed up to their table with changmin.

"play nice." juyeon told him, ignoring the glare chanhee shot him.

"he's cool." kevin assured chanhee, smiling at his friend.

"you're just mad because he outshined you." a new guy said, coming from behind changmin and taking a seat next to kevin.

chanhee simply picked up the new guy's burger from the tray and squeezed out it's contents before letting it fall back on the tray with an ungraceful plop. chanhee then wiped his hand on his napkin before resuming his lunch as if nothing happened.

"dude." the guy said in disbelief, turning to juyeon for help.

"you started it, hyunjae." juyeon simply told him, picking up his apple and taking a bite out of it.

"it was a joke." the guy, hyunjae, defended himself with a scoff.

"anyway, take a seat." kevin told changmin and eric, smiling in satisfaction when they did.

"so changmin, what else do you do besides dancing?" chanhee asked, taking a sip of his water bottle.

"what do you mean?" changmin asked in confusion, frowning when chanhee scoffed and ignored him, turning away from him uninterestedly.

"like, for example, kevin sings and also knows how to play most instruments." eric explained, gesturing towards a proud kevin.

"and juyeon dances, acts and produces songs." eric continued.

"oh, well i don't know how to do much." changmin admitted, eyes widening when chanhee dramatically gasped.

"well how can you be the main character if your only talent is dancing?" chanhee innocently asked, although he was smiling maliciously at him.

changmin glanced at everyone for help but they were all looking at chanhee in disbelief.

"w-well i'm not trying to be the mai-"

"save it." chanhee snapped, pushing his black hair back before picking up his backpack and standing up.

"you just show up and think that you're better than everyone just because you can dance? well guess what, half the school can dance just as good, if not better, than you. you're not special and you never will be." chanhee spit out, giving changmin a little smile before walking away.

an awkward beat of silence passed before juyeon sighed lightly and went after chanhee.

"are you gonna eat your burger?" hyunjae asked eric, smiling when eric rolled his eyes and handed him his burger.

changmin could only sigh at the way his first day was unfolding.

"you gotta stop being so mean that that guy." juyeon told chanhee once he caught up to him.

"juyeon, i was singing the song you produced. it was the first one that they have allowed to be performed." chanhee snapped, crossing his arms across his chest as he walked into an empty classroom that was nearby.

"so?" juyeon asked, following him inside.

"what do you mean 'so?'?! all that everyone remembers is his stupid dancing! nobody cares about the song you wrote." chanhee explained with a scoff, rolling his eyes when he saw juyeon's lips quirk up as a smile was threatening to bloom onto his face.

"there's no way you're upset because of that." juyeon laughed, reaching out to grab chanhee's arm when the younger moved to leave.

"baby, i don't mind. i promise. i'll write more songs in the future that you'll be able to sing for everyone without that guy stealing all the attention." juyeon assured him, bringing him in for a hug.
