changmin bit a pencil as he walked through the hallways, he was looking down at his ipad and was deciding on which song he wanted to use for his performance. the dance teacher contacted him and told him that the concert was two weeks away so of course he was freaking out.

he stopped at his locker and leaned on it, he erased one of the songs before thinking about it once again and adding it back.

he felt someone stand next to him and was expecting it to either be kevin or eric but when he looked up he was met with a guy with long black hair.

"yes?" changmin asked, confused when the guy only tilted his head to the side and looked him up and down.

"there's no way you won best dancer." the guy said, raising an eyebrow cockily when changmin looked at him in disbelief.

"and why not?" changmin defensively asked, already feeling stressed with the concert and now he had to deal with this guy.

"you know juyeon would've won if chanhee hadn't sabotaged him two days before the checkups, right?" the guy asked, ignoring changmin's question.

changmin was about to speak up when a third voice interrupted him.

"hyunjin, didn't your parents ever teach you that talking behind someone's back is rude?" chanhee asked in a teasing voice, raising an eyebrow when the guy, hyunjin, turned to look at him in amusement.

"oops, didn't see you there." hyunjin laughed, standing on the other side of changmin.

"don't talk about my relationship with juyeon again." chanhee told him and now changmin felt awkward.

"are y'all back together? that's not fishy at all." hyunjin smiled in amusement.

"yeah, juyeon and i are back together so maybe go tell your boyfriend to stop texting me, it's getting annoying." chanhee sighed, picking at the black polish on his nails. changmin's jaw dropped when he heard this, turning to look at hyunjin's angry face.

"changbin would never cheat on me with someone like you." hyunjin seethed, glaring at chanhee.

"of course he didn't cheat. i never answered so how could he?" chanhee asked, head cocking to the side as he took his tongue in between his teeth.

"what's your problem?!" hyunjin asked, watching as chanhee laughed in amusement.

"what's my problem? you were talking about my relationship and you're being pissy about the dance title." chanhee scoffed, stepping closer to hyunjin.

"you didn't get the title because you suck at dancing, get over it." chanhee shrugged, taking his thumb in between his teeth to hide his smile.

"you're a fucking loser!" hyunjin snapped before storming off.

"don't you dare tell anyone about this." chanhee immediately told changmin who only nodded.

"why not?" juyeon's voice rang out, causing both chanhee and changmin to turn in surprise. " i think everyone should know that you actually can be nice... well, semi nice."

"what the fuck? how long have you been standing there?" chanhee asked, his surprisement morphing into a glare when juyeon laughed.

"the whole time. it was cute when you defended changmin." juyeon smirked when chanhee's face dropped.

"i-i didn't defend him, i was defending our relationship." chanhee objected, turning to look at changmin, who's eyes were wide, in slight panic before turning back to his smug boyfriend.

"you don't have to lie-"

before juyeon could say anything else, chanhee took ahold of his hand and dragged him away.

changmin watched as juyeon smiled down at chanhee, freeing his hand and instead wrapped it around chanhee's shoulders bringing him closer to press a kiss on his head.

changmin looked away, feeling like he was intruding but he felt happy that they were okay. juyeon and chanhee were really weird when they broke up.

"have you chosen a song yet?" kevin suddenly came up to him, eric and younghoon in tow.

"umm, not yet." changmin sighed, awkwardly glancing at younghoon before looking down at his ipad.

"you still haven't? why don't you come to our performance meeting to relax?" eric suggested, kevin immediately lighting up at the idea and nodding.

"are you three in a team?" changmin asked, turning off his ipad and placing it under his arm.

"all of us are, it was chanhee's idea to have all of us be in team. it's a genius idea, i think it'll be an awesome performance." kevin gushed and changmin doesn't know why but he felt a little sad that his friends were going to be in a group excluding him.

"that's cool, i would love to see your practice." changmin smiled nonetheless, getting enthusiastic smiles from both kevin and eric but younghoon seemed to notice his lack of honestly and was just staring at him.

"great, let's meet up after school and we'll go together." kevin smiled, taking younghoon and eric's arm before pulling them towards their next class.

"great." changmin muttered under his breath, opening his ipad once again.

"i hope y'all don't mind but we invited changmin, he was having trouble with his performance so maybe he'll get inspired with ours." kevin said, sitting down on the big table.

"it's completely fine." jacob smiled at changmin, gesturing for him to sit down.

"i think we should do speechless." chanhee jumped right into it, getting a few nods of consideration.

"why?" eric asked, wanting to hear chanhee's ideas.

"well, hyunjae and i were thinking about doing a slow song since my singing isn't fit for upbeat songs..." chanhee trailed off before rolling his eyes. "hence why i lost my title." he gritted out.

so chanhee cares now, yikes. changmin thought, biting his bottom lip.

"let's move on from that." hyunjae told him with a chuckle, patting his back.

"whatever." chanhee muttered, shrugging hyunjae's hand off before continuing.

"i suggest that kevin plays live piano while jacob plays the violin, i think it'll bring our performance to another level." sunwoo spoke up, getting approved noises from the table.

"that sounds good to me." jacob agreed and kevin nodded in agreement as well.

"eric, hak, sunwoo and i will be the dancers." juyeon said, looking at the three to see if they agreed, they did.

"and chanhee, younghoon, kevin, jacob and i will be singing." hyunjae finished off, the whole table agreeing with it.

changmin bit his lip nervously, they already had their performance outline but he couldn't even pick a song.

this was going to be terrible.
