The girl was staring into space with a deadpan look on her face. I wondered if she was all by herself. But the park isn't exactly empty; maybe her mom and dad went to the washroom; maybe she's as bored and hungry as I am. Still, I may come off as someone suspicious if I approach her. Then her dad might appear from out of nowhere with a flying kick.
A girl in the park is nothing unusual, so I went on my way.
I might have bought more food than I should have. I took a detour before coming back and browsed the book shop. Then what the hell-- I bought myself a cup of iced-coffee. That's going to leave a sting in my pocket.
On my way back, the little girl is still there in the park, sitting, spaced out, and STILL all by herself.
