The Play Pt 1: Auditions

Luna POV
I roll over to see Aphmau asleep.
"Aphhh" I say.
Aphmau rolls over and groans at me.
"Whatttttt..."
"I had another weird dream..."
"About?"
"Me as Sleeping Beauty and Blaze as the Prince?"
"Blaze?" She questions
"Yeah, it's weird... I usually have dreams about the person I went on a date with..."
"Maybe your mind is still on Valentine's Day."
"Perhaps... I was hoping to dream about Garroth though... our date was lovely"
"OOOO!" Aphmau jumps out of bed.
"That woke you up..."
"Sorry, it's just, you've been having all these dreams and after your dates. Maybe see Lucinda again. She likes decoding dreams."
"Ohhh yeah sure. It's not urgent though."
I pause before looking at her again.
"Hey Aph? Where were you when I got home?"
"The theatre. They took ages with their paperwork!"
"What for?"
"Katelyn is putting on Romeo and Juliet! But when she tells you about it act surprised. She wanted to tell you."
"Ok..."

Aphmau goes into our closet to get dressed while I head downstairs to make a tea. My phone rings. Diana. She's asking for the full ingredients list for my extract. She's also scheduled my segment for her show in a couple days. I go to sit on the couch and Katelyn comes down the stairs with a grin on her face.
"Lunaaaaaa!!! I have news!"
"Oooo what is it!" I smile. Putting my acting skills to use.
"Well, I've managed to get the theatre downtown to agree to me putting on my rendition of Romeo and Juliet! And... you will be auditioning! Please audition... it'll be nice for you to actually play Juliet."
"I'm so happy for you Katelyn! And obviously I'm going to audition!"
"Aphmau told you didn't she?"
"What how did you- no she-"
"-you may be a good actor but I can still see the deceit in your eyes. No acting can hide it from me. Thanks though. For trying. Now if you don't mind... APHMAUUUUU!"
She storms upstairs to Aph's room while I finish my tea and watch tv. Moments later I get a text.

Lucinda🧡:
Hey, wanted to know how your wrist is doing?

Luna:
It's all ok! It's hurting less.

Lucinda🧡:
Magic bandages. Doesn't fix it, but makes the pain more bearable. Also, I've been able to sample the magic but I'm still not overly sure who cast the spell. The magic is coming up with multiple casters. Which is obviously very wrong! I'll get there...

Luna:
No rush. I'm sure it'll all make sense soon

Lucinda🧡:
That's sweet but whoever did it needs to be help accountable! This kind of magic is treading on dangerous waters... bordering illegality. It's like this person is looking to be dangerous.

Luna:
And we'll find them! If anyone can, it's you! Good luck Lucinda!

Lucinda🧡:
Thanks. I'll see you at the auditions. I'm helping with stage effects.

Luna:
See you then.

Luna POV:
I hope she's able to figure it out. And report whatever it is to the police... the magic police? Oh I don't know.
As I'm clearing up my mug, Katelyn, KC and Aphmau all come down ready to go to the theatre.
"We're heading there early. But no rush for you! I don't need you for another hour or so! Get yourself ready and warmed up." Katelyn smiles.
"Ok." I say.
I drop a text in the group chat for someone to take me to the auditions. Of course Garroth, Cameron and Jayden are already there. Blaze (our new addition) coming in slowly behind. I said yes to Cameron as he got there first but he offered to take the others too. Great. A car full of admirers... what could go wrong.
I get dressed into some leggings and a purple jumper, fill my water bottle and wait by my front door. When I open it, I'm greeted with four faces which I push past to get into the car. I'm obviously riding shotgun. The ride is alright. I can feel the tension in the silence of the car. I try making conversation but I'm pretty sure they're all thinking of ways to compete with each other. You know, normal man things I guess. We arrive at the theatre and they all fight to open my door. I get out and head in. Ignoring the mess my mere presence has created. I see Katelyn and Lucinda in the audience with Aphmau and KC on the stage. "Hey! Am I early?"
"A little" Katelyn responds to me. "But it's ok. Shows your dedication and commitment to my show. You can also learn your lines earlier than everyone else."
I sit and read the script as the boys enter the theatre and get their own scripts.
