Beating Hearts

Chapter 19

Theo’s POV-

I hear a loud snap and I turn around. I gasp. I run towards Shai with all of the energy I have. Since she was about 15-20 feet in the air in a harness, I had to catch her. I get to her right as she is about to hit the ground. How did the harness break?! Then as I thought about that, I catch her and I breathe a sigh of relief. 

I look into her hazel eyes as a bead of sweat drips down my forehead. I say quietly, “Shai.. Are you alright?”

“Theo..,” Shai says as a tear runs down her face. Then she starts to cry and she digs her face into my chest. I stroke her now short blonde hair and whisper in her ear.

“It’s okay Shai. I got you. It’s okay. I love you.”

As she is done crying, she whispers, “Thank you. I love you too.”

I set her down and Robert, the new director, comes toward us. But by now, the whole cast is gathered around the room. He says, “Ok guys. I think we are done filming for today. Take a break and we will start again tomorrow.”

I say, “Ok Robert. Thanks.”

As we walk off of the set, I get a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach. I looks towards Shai, who has gotten herself together by now.

“Theo, you ok?”

“Yeah I’m fine.”

We keep walking then get outside and head towards the car. Then the world starts to spin around me. Then it went dark.
