Beating Hearts

Chapter 4

Shai's POV-
I feel a wet touch on my forehead and slowly open my eyes. My head is pounding, and I have a major headache. I see a man in front of me, a man who I don't recognize. Brown hair, full brown eyes, and a deep British accent. I give him a confused look and he talks to me, saying, "Shai, baby, it's me. It's ok. You were in an accident but I'm here for you."
I'm thinking at the same time, who are you? Why did you kiss me? What accident?
I give him the same confused look, and say "Who-Who are you?"
As soon as I say that, the mysterious man starts sobbing uncontrollably. The man runs out of the room, and gets a doctor. He says to the doctor, "Sir, Shai d-doesn't recognize me! What-What's g-going on?!?"
"Sir, I told you that she has head trauma. She could have amnesia for several days, or even months. Just calm down and I will have a nurse get you some water."
"Ok, thank you," he says. The man then turns on the tv and comes towards me. He says, "Shai, I'm Theo. Remember how we worked on a movie together?"
I try to think back, but it just hurts and I just don't remember. I lightly shake my head, with tears coming down my face. The man, Theo, brings me in for a hug. I may not remember him, but I let him anyways. But his scent seems familiar. Comforting. I may remember his accent too but I just push it aside.
Then I hear Theo gasp. He turns toward the television and stares at the screen, and I do the same. On the tv, it says, "Theo James seen saving co-star Shailene Woodley's life at a Divergent premiere in Los Angeles. He was seen driving to the hospital with Woodley in the front seat. We are not sure on Woodley's condition but this has fans really talking."
I start thinking really hard to remember. My name is Shailene? What premiere? As I am thinking, Theo says to himself, "Oh gosh, the fans know.." He cups his hands to his face with a look of worry. Just as I think that things can't get worse, I hear something else on the tv. "The alleged attacker is said to be someone familiar. Maggie. Maggie who?
