Chapter 11

(Switches back to 3rd person lol, I'm indecisive)

"Learned your lesson yet?" Alexander, the claimed head mage said as he walked into the mansion. His temporary guards had held Florence against the wall, the sword pointed at her. Simber gave a harsh look at Alex before stepping back. It had caused a bit of a commotion inside, Artimeans spreading murmurs across. Alex gritted his teeth, he did not want to create this scene. "I hope you all finally understand to listen to me." Alex announced to the ones that watched the whole scene. "Do I make myself clear?"

Something rushed over him, that same feeling when he grabbed that dagger. The feeling of control was just so satisfying. He wanted, no, needed more. Alex felt so deprived of control for so long. Just listening to Marcus, Florence, these droning Artimeans. He had just about enough of it. "You may continue with your daily activities. Utilize this moment for your safety." And with that the world grew a little more grayer.

This feeling was tugging at him inside. Just imagine what he could do with all this power, what if he had more? Finally, he'd get the chance to show everyone who was in control. "Guards, take Florence away. She's interfered enough." and with just that the guards carried Florence away. They struggled to hold her up though. "Florence, stand up and walk with them. Try anything and I won't be as merciful. I have no need for you anymore."

This time, Florence got up and walked with the guards giving one last look of grimace to Alex. Like, disappointment. It pinched Alex, before that tugging feeling took over. He was finally in control. Finally! Quill was at his knees, doing anything just for rations while Artime was forced to listen. But he wanted more, this didn't feel enough.

He wasn't as strong as Mr.Today though, which bothered him. Mr.Today was either way planning on faking his death, and never teaching Alex everything. Mr.Today just wanted him to carry out his duties, his chores and Alex is not giving him that satistication. It's his life, and he picks his own destiny. Whatever the cost.

He left the main hall, traveling up the stairs and to his headquarters. He could finally dedicate some time to finally going through Mr.Today notebooks, and looking at all these spells he never had the time to learn. Lani sorted out most of it too, so it should be easy to find. ...Lani.

She was still in there. It's been a whole day and a half, and she's still stuck in there. Alex glanced back at his paper of todo's, where he listed his goals a month back. In an attempt to forget about Lani, Alex grabbed a pencil and began crossing out. Compromise Quill? Done. Kill Eagala? Done. There was one more thing left. Gain Utmost Power.

He's been wanting it for a while now. When he was in that room, he couldn't perform a single spell. He was rather the weakest out of everyone, which bothered him. But now, he finally had the time to learn more magic. To be the most powerful mage here. Power, it's been tugging at him for so long. Imagine what he could do with all this power?

He wasn't going to wait anymore. If he was the strongest mage here, he could easily continue to advance and gain control of the rest of the lands. It was so close, just so tempting. He crossed off the last goal in advance, and left his room. "Door Number 1" Alex said, opening the door to the Museum of Large.

When he entered, he couldn't hear or see anyone. But that was the least of Alex's worries. He walked to the library, and scanned the shelves. There must be some incantation or spell out here that would strengthen him right? There weren't hundreds of books here for nothing. Aisle by Aisle, Alex scanned the rows of anything of use. By the time he got to the 4th aisle, he spotted Lani crouching by the books, reading through one. She definitely looked worse, most of the color in her face drained.
