Chapter 10 The Lies

Brandon

I was sitting in my office and a call started to come in from a random number. I didn't want to talk to anyone because I was behind on some work, but I did anyway.

"Hello."

"BRANDON!"

I knew that voice from anywhere, loud and ghetto. Mrs Nautica. What could she want now!

"BRANDON! Asia is having the baby!"

I thought about it for a couple seconds, what if it really was my baby and I missed my son birth.

"Ok I'm on my way, where?"

"Hurry! Einstein hospital."

"Ok!"

I grabbed my keys and phone and sent Za a text, just to let her know wassup.

"I'm on my way to the hospital, Asia is giving birth, I'll call you later."

I knew Za was busy since it was her last weeks of school until she graduated, so I didn't want to bother her during class.

I raced to the hospital which took me about 15-20 minutes to get there but I made it anyway. I found a parking spot close and I grabbed my phone and raced to the entrance.

I was greeted by a lady with a unpleasant face.

"How may I help you sir?" She asked in a tone full of attitude. "Asia-"

Soon as I was about to say her name, her mom rushed over to me and grabbed my arm and started pulling me in the direction Asia was.

A hour passed and I was now holding Aiden, I wasn't sure if I was my baby or not but it was a beautiful sight, a little innocent baby new to the world, just hope his mother will be good to him.

He was now falling asleep in my arms and in came in a tall chocolate male carrying it's a boy birthday balloon. I questioned who it was at first until Asia called him by his name.

"Mike!"

"Who is this Asia?"

"My ex..." Her words trailed off, it was clear to me that he wasn't happy I was here but I didn't care, all I wanted to know was if it was my baby or not, but me and this little man started to grow a bond and I liked it.

"Well... Why is he holding my child?"

"Mike..."she said and took a deep breath, "I don't know if it's your child or his..."

"Damn it Asia! We're going to find out right now!"

"I'm sorry Mike, but I did cheat on him with you..."

"Save it, call the nurse we want a DNA test right now, swob the little muthafucka mouth right now."

I was shocked at this and her mother wasn't saying a word, how could Asia put up with him, and the lies continue. Asia cheated on me with him and claimed this baby was mine!

I spent a couple more hours there and decided to call Za'niyah.

"Hey baby, still at the hospital?"

"Yeah, I'll be leaving soon, it's a lot going on, where are you?"

"Ok, well I'm out with Kayla."

"Ok well, I love you talk to you later mama."

"Kay.."

"What's up?"

"I'm not sure, but it seems like it's a lot of drama at the hospital.." Her eyes widen was I spoke. "But anyways, I'll find out later, he's about to leave, and Im exhausted from today."

"Rd I'll take you home."

We got up and walked towards her car, I spot someone that looked familiar but it didn't dawn on me who it was, suddenly I heard Kayla scream and it came to me who it was. Dionte, Kayla's "boo".

"Kay-" I was cut off by her, "this mf think I'm playing? Oh hell no Za!" I tried to grab arm but she pulled away so fast and walked over to them. Of course I was right behind her.

"This fuck boy told me he was working today, but no he with a hoe!"

I never seen Kayla this mad before and it was quite amusing but I had to be serious cause she was my bitch and if it's war with her, it's war with me.

"Kayla..." Dionte spoke, in the state of shock, "umm, what you doing here?"

"Cut the bullshit Dionte, who is this?" I rolled my eyes cause this was straight bullshit now I want to see how he is going to play this off. He started scratching his head, not knowing what lie to say next. "Umm... This Temika..."

"Fuck it! Delete my number cause I ain't soft, be happy with this hoe!"

Kayla was always the type to talk to me about how soft I was and cared about people's feelings, now I really got a chance to see how hard she was and I can admit she was the real MVP for this.

2 hours later

It was now 6 and I was cuddled up with Brandon just talking, and he mentioned everything that happened today I was surprised and also feared what will happen to the baby, but it wasn't none of my business, and it will stay that way. I didn't hate Asia but I just didn't like her ways, she was quite childish to me.

My phone started ringing and it was Kayla, I knew today wasn't a good day for her after what happened when we went out to eat, so I picked up the phone to hear what was up.

"Hey baby how are you?" It was silent and I knew something was up.

"Baby who is it?"

"Shh Brandon, it's Kayla but she isn't speaking"

"Isn't speaking? What she called for then?"

Brandon didn't know about the situation earlier, and right now wasn't the time to explain, I just wanted to know what was up with my best friend.

"KAYLA!"

Suddenly I heard a scream and I knew it was her, my heart dropped to my stomach and it was over from there. All I could think about was what was up, was she hurt, why did she scream, and who was there.

"Brandon I don't like this! Brandon I can't! We have to find out what's going on." Tears running down my face, my best friend, my therapist, my everything, it's WAR!
