hey guys, play this song when u see the *  to hear what song they're hearing !

Draco was in the middle of the dancefloor when he saw them walk in, striding through the Great Hall with the radiance a thousand suns, her smile carving its own path as surrounding dancers momentarily paused in awe. He was absolutely dumbstruck, oblivious to every detail in the room with the exception of her delicate hand intertwined with Theo's arm, barely aware of his own grasp around Pansy's waist as they continued to twirl and spin.

"Wow, she looks beautiful," Blaise's date said a few feet away, gazing in admiration to where Greengrass stood with Theo. They seem to have caught the attention of almost everyone in the room, though whether it was a result of the couple's undeniable beauty or the odd group they were accompanied with, Draco was unsure. "the dress is absolutely to die for. Look at that shade of red! Gorgeous."

"Of course she'd be wearing Gryffindor colors, now that she's become a pet of theirs she thinks she's one of them." Pansy's voiced pierced through his awestruck state with poison seeping into every syllable as she shot a pointed look at the pair. "At least she had enough sense to date a Slytherin, though she's still tarnishing Salazar's name with the company she keeps. Honestly, associating with mudbloods!"

He said nothing as Pansy dragged him in the opposite direction of the peculiar grouping, to where Greengrass and Theo were no longer in their line of sight. God forbid they be within fifty feet of each other.

They continued dancing for a few more songs, mindlessly spinning and twirling and dipping around the room, Pansy taking any available opportunity to get unnecessarily close to him. He found his eyes wandering around the room without even realizing they were searching for the witch in red. After their third slow dance Pansy finally agreed to a break for refreshments, and he went to the punch stand for the both of them, returning to their designated table to see a very pissed off Pansy pouting in one of the seats with her arms crossed over her chest.

"I've been gone for less than two minutes, why are you cross for now?" he asked, peeved by her fluctuating attitudes as he handed her a small glass of glowing red punch.

"Our lovely friend Theo has taken it upon himself to invite his date and the rest of her friends to join us here," she glowered, motioning with her hands to the small handbags and wraps and little flower things decorating the table and seats. "Isn't that just lovely?"

"I think you'll survive."

Pansy narrowed her eyes in suspicion, sitting up straighter in her chair. "I thought you hated the girl, why the change of heart?" she furrowed her brows in frustration as if trying to draw out a confession through sole willpower.

He rolled his eyes at her insinuation, setting his now empty cup on the table. "I still despise the girl, I just don't see why you're so surprised if he's been inviting her to dine with us for weeks now. You should be used to it by now."

She continued to frown as she accepted his answer, but he could tell she wasn't going to drop the matter anytime soon, which was ridiculous. Honestly, her silent accusations were laughable, as if he could ever move past his hatred for the wretched blood betraying witch. Really, as if he, a Malfoy, would ever allow himself to create a friendship with someone who has such low standards as to keep the company of mudbloods. Absolutely absurd, so much so that he had to wonder where these insinuations were coming from. Surely she couldn't possibly think he'd grown fond of Greengrass just because of some lousy kiss they shared out of requirements to fulfilling a game of Truth or Dare. No, that couldn't be because it was just a game. A stupid, drunken game that left the sweet aftertaste of her tongue across his, and burned the image of her doe like eyes gazing into his, the ghost of her fingertips still caressing his face and neck.
