Chapter 13

The next morning the doorbell rang. I looked at the clock and they are right on time. I had my outfit on for the concert and my hair and make-up were perfect. Not sure how long it will stay that way, but at least I tried.

I walked downstairs to open the door thinking it would be Niall and Carrie. Instead it was a strange man holding a bouquet of a dozen red roses.

'Haley Cade?' The man asked looking at me.

'That's me' I said confused as hell.

'I have a delivery for you' he said handing me the roses and walked away.

That was really strange. Who could these be from? The only person who has ever sent me flowers was my Aunt, and that was when I was in the hospital for nearly killing myself in front of my whole school.

I set the roses on the table next to the front door and examined them. They were perfectly cut flowers that didn't look cheap. The clear vase had a white ribbon wrapped around it and tied in a perfect little bow. The roses were perfectly placed without any gaps between them. I looked in the middle of the flowers to see a little white card sitting on a plastic stick. I took it off and opened it.

Can't wait to see you tonight xoxo -Harry

What the heck? Harry sent me flowers? How does he know where I live? Why did he do something like this? Was he flirting with me? Was this another one of his games to get more publicity? My heart and my head were racing at different speeds and I couldn't keep up. My head says this is a joke, but my heart says that it was a romantic gesture that I should accept and move on.

The doorbell rang again. Better not be more flowers, I don't know if I could emotionally handle that.

I opened the door to see Carrie and Niall standing there. Carrie just smiled as Niall stepped forward and reached his arms out for a hug. I stepped closer to met him half way as we wrapped our arms around each other. Kind of a weird way to meet someone for the first time, but I wasn't against it. He smelled nice.

'I'm Niall' He said letting me go and stepping back.

"It is nice to meet you, I am Haley"

'I would sure hope so" He joked in his perfect Irish accent.

I could understand why Carrie liked him so much. He was, as far as I could tell, a gentleman and was attractive with an accent. She hit the jackpot. Then again, Harry is also attractive with an accent. I'm not sure about the gentleman part though. He did send me flowers, which was weird, yet nice. He is just another story. I will figure things out with him eventually.

'Are you excited for the show tonight?' Carrie asked me. I am not sure if Niall knows the whole story with Harry and I or not.

'Very' I said, keeping it short just in case.

"I sure am! I haven't seen Harry in years!" Niall said.

"Wait... what? You know Harry?" Carrie and I nearly said at the same time.

"Yes!" He said.

"Well are you going to tell us the story of how you know him... or not?" I said.

"Oh... right sorry" He laughed "I was on Xfactor the same year he was. He clearly made it farther then I did because he won the whole thing"

"Why did you get sent home?" Carrie asked, clearly not caring if it's a touchy subject

"Katy Perry said no." He said not upset or anything. As far as I could tell anyways.

"Who gave you those flowers?" Carrie asked pointing to them.

"Harry I guess, that is what the note said anyways"

"They are gorgeous" Carrie said knowing not to go into detail because off of my facial expression.

I am still not sure why he sent me them in the first place. Its not like we are dating...or even friends. Yeah it was a nice thing to do, but I have only seen him two times. Once on Ellen, and when he saved me from the mob in a small store. It's not that I am not grateful. I think they are beautiful, I am just confused.

"Are you guys ready to go?" I said looking up at them.

"Yeah"

"Yep"

I put my shoes on and yelled to my mom that we were leaving. I already told her earlier that I would text her throughout the day to keep her updated. I closed the door behind me and we all got into the car. Carrie was first for driving so I sat in the back seat and Niall sat in the passenger seat.

The beginning of the drive was mainly me asking Niall a bunch of stupid questions. Like what his family was like and he said he had a brother who had a son named Theo. He showed me some pictures of him on his phone and he is literally the cutest kid in the world.

I was worried in the beginning about driving with a stranger in the car, but Niall and I are getting along very well. I like to make him talk just so I can hear his accent. I can picture the two of us being good friends.

The conversation turned into Niall telling us stories about Harry from when they were on Xfactor. Like how he used to work in a bakery and his jeans being really baggy. Which is weird to picture, because I bet Harry only has two or three pairs of really tight skinny jeans.

Our conversation kept going and we kept laughing and cracking jokes about stupid stuff. We were only on the road for about and hour and a half before we heard a loud noise and the car started turning itself towards the ditch. Luckily, Carrie was paying attention and turned the car the other way to make it go straight again. We swerved back and forth a few times before coming to a stop on the side of the road.

'What the hell was that?' Niall said a little freaked out.

'Flat tire.' Carrie said.
