Chapter 3

"EVERYONE DOWN" the man yelled again as he was waving his gun around. No one knew what to do so they just obeyed his orders. My feet were stuck. I couldn't move. My stomach twisted and dropped to the floor. I felt like I could throw up. I looked at the ground and my feet started to move. Where am I going? I can't stop. I looked up and I was getting closer to the man. My feet picked up their pace to a run. As I got closer my heart started pumping harder and harder. The man's back was turned so he couldn't see me coming up behind him. When I got close to him I swung my arm out as hard as I could and smacked him on the left side of his jaw. His gun flew out of his hand and he fell to the ground. "Ouch" I thought as I looked down at my hand. My heart was pounding so hard that everything around me went to a blur. I turned my head to the man on the ground. He wasn't moving but his chest was going up and down. I knocked him out with my hand. I didn't know I had that much power. What the hell am I even doing? I walked over to the gun that had flown out of his hands. I picked it up and released the magazine into my hands and counted the number of bullets still left in it. Six. He must have used the other four when he made his grand entrance.

"WATCH OUT" someone yelled from the crowd.

I looked up and saw another man dressed in black charging after me with a knife in his hand. Shit. I knew this was a bad idea. My heart twisted even more. I felt like my head was pounded so loud i'm sure people could hear it from the bleachers. Why is no one helping me?

I quickly put the magazine back into the gun and pulled the barrel back to release a bullet into the chamber. I clicked the safety button on the side so it was ready to fire. I lifted both of my hands up in front of my face. I squinted my left eye ready to make a shot. Just like before, I was frozen. I could get murdered in front of my whole school if I don't do something. My head had so many thoughts running through it. My legs started shaking and my mouth was dry. "I won't kill him" I thought to myself as I gained enough power in my finger to pull the trigger. People from the bleachers let out a gasp as the man screamed in pain. I shot his leg, but didn't kill him. He fell to the ground holding the wound and trying to stop the bleeding.

I felt a hand grab me from the back and pulled me to the ground. My hair covered my face so I couldn't see what was going on. I tried to pull myself up, but another force pushed me back down. I took my shaky hand and pushed my hair out of my face to see there was another man dressed in black. I kicked him in the chest and he backed off long enough for me to stand up. He grabbed my arm and turned my body around. I felt a sharp sting across the right side of my ribs. I didn't have time to look down. I was starting to panic. My breath increased and I was starting to get light headed. I could feel tears filling up in my eyes.

I took my elbow and hit him right in the throat. He struggled for his breath as I took a few steps closer to him. I dug my fingers through his hair and slammed his head down, I let go of his hair before he hit the ground, so he wouldn't take me down with him. His head hit the gym floor. I kicked him in the groin just to make sure he was down.

I looked up into the crowd. My vision was blurry from the adrenaline pumping through my veins, but I could feel everyone's eyes on me. I looked down at my ribs where I could still feel a burning pain. My shirt was ripped and I was covered in blood. I was cut. The blood trailed down my legs and I could feel the full affects of the blood loss. My head was spinning more than it was before. I was swaying back and forth and losing my balance.

I turned my head to the right to see the third man struggle to stand up. He hasn't given up yet. We made eye contact and he started to charge towards me. I didn't have a weapon on me, nothing to defend myself. I was screwed. As he got closer and closer he put his hand inside of his jacket. He pulled out a clean silver platted knife. I panicked and turned my body to run the other way. I was injured so I couldn't run as fast as I wanted. I still felt woozy from the blood gushing out of my side.

I felt a hand wrap around my face and pull my head back. He put the knife to my neck and dug into my skin. I felt blood drip down my neck as he slid the smooth blade in a horizontal line. People in the crowd started screaming and crying as the blade slowly made it's way to the middle of my neck. The ass hole is making me suffer. I would be dead by now if he really wanted to kill me.

All of the sudden his grip let up as I heard a loud bang. The echo from the shot was loud in the small gym. I felt the mans body drop to the ground behind me. I put my hands up to the slit in my neck to help manage the bleeding. I slowly turned my body to see what had happened. The cops were here. It's about damn time. One of them had shot the man in the back of the head. Tricky shot, that could have killed me too. I started walking towards the police. My side was on fire and my neck was even worse.

I started feeling dizzy and my vision was quickly going dark. I could feel my body loose it's balance as I fell face first to the ground.
