Chapter 9

Xander's POV

I jerked up from my sleep.

Someone is at the door. Check who is it. My wolf orders to me.

Slow down, there was other people in the floor.

NO, someone is at mate's door.

I did not need to be told twice. I was at my door within seconds thanks to my werewolf genes. I opened the door and saw Aditi at her door. She looked at me but looked away quickly, whispered a 'Hi' and went inside her apartment. Taylor was in the living room, already alert due to the commotion.

"All clear." I tell him and went to my room. I looked the time, its 4.20. Where is she coming from? And I realized I was in my boxers. No wonder she turned away quickly. I still have another 20 mins before my day starts. Therefore, I went back to sleep. At 5:30 we were at the training grounds, all of us doing lapse and warming up.

You have finally found our Luna. Dexter mind-linked me. I nodded at him. He patted my shoulder. Just the mention of her made me happy. I have informed our scouts to dig deeper about Luna. We need to study her schedule and plan out next step. Anyways, what is your plan?

We will discuss later on, maybe late afternoon after work.

After showering and changing to work cloth, I went to find Artemis.

When will mate come to stay with us? My wolf asks me. He wants to be with his mate more than me. His primal urges are stronger than mine. He doesn't understand why he cannot be together with her. He never wanted a chosen mate and waited for his mate. He loves Artemis and took care of Sophie but he never loved her. Now that he finally found his mate, he was getting impatient. I felt bad for him because he only wanted his mate.

Soon... it is not that simple.

Why?

One, she is human. She doesn't know about us. She doesn't feel the bond like us. It will take time for the bond to become strong enough for her to fell the mate pull.

But there have been many human mates before us. They loved their werewolf mates.

That's is where point two comes, we cannot just abduct her. She belongs to some powerful family. They will turn every stone if she goes missing until they find her. We don't want to attract attention to our territory. We have to be careful with her. Dexter is trying to find out all her bodyguards, there are sure to be some of them around her. Until we get all this information, we cannot make a move. I hope you understand.

My wolf was silent. It meant that he understood me. I did not bring up Artemis because I did not want to worry him. After sometime he spoke again, what do we do then?

We will discuss with William and Dexter today. But plan A is to woe her and make her fall in love with us. Then we can be together without any hustle.

Are you sure she will fall for you? because I am not sure about your charms. You have never woed anyone... what is plan B?

Bro, bring out your wolfy charm, plan A is the best shot we have got. If I fail to woe her, you also fail with me. Plan B, is to adduct her. Either way we will have mate by our side.

What about her family if you adduct her?

Well, I will not keep her here. We will leave everything and take her with us. Ali, William, Dexter will run this pack while we go into hiding with her. Maybe with time, the mate bond will develop and she will love us. Then we can return back.

Mate cannot survive in the wild like us.

I know. Like I said, let's hope plan A works. Hunter, don't worry, we will do everything to get our mate even if It is the last thing we do. The mate bond will work its magic. We just need some time. I could tell that the bond was working on her as well. Don't you remember how she acted around us? She even peeked at us from behind the curtains, remember? My wolf purred at the memory of our adorable mate. I could not help grinning myself.

Hunter, I am sorry. I should have listened to you and waited for mate.

Xander, don't apologize. You loved Sophie; the pack needed a Luna. There is nothing to be sorry. Artemis is our pup and we will always do what is best for her. She is a gift from the moon goddess just like our mate.

I found Artemis in the kitchen. Mrs. Rose was feeding her. I kissed her forehead and she stretched her arms, asking me to take her.

"You need to eat first before you can play with daddy". I took the spoon from Mrs. Rose and start feeding her. Once she was done, Mrs. Rose took her away to clean her up. I ate my breakfast but I could not help wondering what Mishka must be doing, maybe on her way to university.

We can visit the university and look at mate.

Sorry... Lover Boy. We don't want to draw attention until we know who are her bodyguards, remember?

Nevertheless, I found myself asking for her university timetable few hours later. It was hard to not think about her. She was always on my mind.

It was lunch time. It meant that lunch must be served at all the three pack houses. I decided to have lunch at 'Young building'. It will help distract my wandering mind. As I walked in, laughter, chattering filled the room as everyone ate together. As I walked to get my food, many people greeted me and spoke with me. I conversed with most to catch up with their lives. As I sat down and ate my meal, Alina settled down beside me.

"So, is it Mishka?"

"Yes. How come you are here?"

"Hmm ... that is all I need. You are going to thank me forever soon.", with that, she left. I sighed; I just hope she doesn't embarrass me or herself.

Dexter, do you have any progress? Try to bring some information about her. Hobbies, bodyguards and schedule when we have that meeting. As much as possible. I mind link him after lunch as I walked back to my office.

Yeah. We already have a lot. Have been working on it since yesterday. I left her university schedule at your desk. Dester replied back.

I did some more paperwork. I wanted to go back to the apartment early today. I called William and Dexter for the meeting. Dexter did have some information – some good and some not so good.

Mishka likes to dance. She goes to dance classes twice a week – Wednesdays and Fridays afternoon after university. She has German classes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. She goes to university daily, when she doesn't have classes, she goes to the library. She seems to read a lot. She speaks Hindi, English, French & Dutch. She is not dating anyone which is the good news. She moved here about two years back for her WO Bachelors. She had a year left. It surprised me that she was here all this time.

The family which was suspected to be her guardians, are not who we thought was. They know each other but that family doesn't have much to do with Mishka. So, this is bad news because it means that we do not know her bodyguards. Scouts will need to follow her a few days to find the person or persons who are her bodyguards.

Let's go and wait at the balcony. She will be home today; we can listen to her sing again. My wolf chirped with excitement. Soon I was on my way to her apartment.
