Chapter 11

Xander's POV

Sunday.

I waited for Alina alone in my apartment. Taylor has left for the pack house. Yesterday night, she had met my mate. I wanted to know how my mate was. Mishka... I have not met her since that Monday night.

I did not want to come across as a creep or stalker. But both I and my wolf could not stay long without seeing her so we visited her now and then, watching her from far away. The way she peeked at me through her lashes, a little coy, haunted me numerous nights. I wanted to tell her that she was my moon, but I was not sure how she will react. The mate bond was growing. I can feel the pull towards her getting stronger. She is always in my mind. I have this desire or need to see her every single day. I doubt the bond would be this strong to her. She was human. If she had been a she-wolf, we would be mated by now. Nevertheless, I can only pray to the moon goddess that the bond is strong enough for her to accept me for what I am, who I am.

She likes us already. I can feel the bond in her end. My wolf consoled me.

The doorbell rang and as I opened the door, Alina entered the with some coffee and food. We sat down. "So...?" I was restless, I have been waiting for her too long.

"Good morning, Big brother. Well, as your cupid, before I shoot my little arrow, I need you to tell me truthfully if you want her. I don't want to shoot my arrow to only one person."

The little devil wanted me to confess my heart in words. She knew that I will want my mate. I spoke anyway, "Yeah, I want her. Now tell me, how was she?"

"The moon and the stars don't glow as bright as her eyes. She was as radiant as the sun."

"I know how she looks, cut the teasing and come to the point."

"Okay. Sorry, but I don't want you to see her through my eyes. I don't want to tell you how she is. You will have to find that out yourself and for that, I have invited her and Aditi for retirement lunch party. They are coming too. So, we have a party to plan and also find a person to retire."

"Why did you do that for? What will happen when she finds out your stupid plan?"

"Let me quote you something, 'All is fair in love and war.', she will never fall for you if you never speak to her. I am trying to create a scene where both of you can meet and stop being strangers. After that you can get to know her. You can't count on the mate bond alone. You need to try harder as in invoke the sparks in her body. She is human, she won't feel the bond if it is not strong enough. In other words, you need to make the bond grow."

I pondered upon her words for a while and then confessed to her, "Alina, help me out with this one. I don't think I am in my league here. I can't stop thinking about her. The world is not same anymore. Now I need her like life itself. But I am a stranger to her."

She smiled at me and hugged me. "What am I for? I will help you get our Luna. To start with, I will go and check what they are doing, if they are okay with it. I will ask them to join us for lunch. They will agree most probably. You okay with it?"

"You are the best. Let me know what they said. I will need to get the food delivered before they come"

"I am taking one of your house keys with me", with those words, she left me in my apartment.
