All the talk of the Yule Ball was seriously becoming troublesome. Amara understood the reasoning behind it, they'd never had a dance like that before, it was a chance to actually have fun, and it was a change of pace. Except this whole year has been a bit of a change of pace from everyone considering the fact that it was also the year of the tournament. Frankly, Amara had better things to think about. Like how the night before, she let herself be carried away by Cedric Diggory's charm in the prefect's bathroom of all places. In her defense, she'd always known he was an attractive guy who was popular amongst all students, but she couldn't help but feel a bit ridiculous to even think for more than a second that he was acting anything more of kind with her.
It almost made her laugh at the thought herself. In her hands she held a letter written on fresh parchment, wax seal of her family's emblem keeping it shut. She headed toward the owlery, in hopes of finding her beloved owl to deliver the letter to. Her parents had asked for a bit of an overview of how time had passed this year considering they didn't see each other much.
"Dear mother,
The year has gone by
quite quickly actually,
considering everything
that has been going on.
I can't believe Christmas
is already around the corner.
The second task is already on
its way, and the Yule Ball is only
weekends away. I still haven't
figured what to wear and
when I shall go buy a dress.
Thomas said green, he really
fancies the color and I guess
so do I.Professor Snape is really
content with my scores in
classes, and I've been tutoring
students left and right in Potions.
There is a boy in my potions
class, Cedric Diggory, he's the
Hogwarts champion next to
Harry Potter of course, he's in
my group and I helped him
riddle out a part of the second task. All is well and I hope the
same could be said back home,
hopefully I will be able to
travel soon enough.
Sincerely,
Amara Rosier"Nothing exciting ever happened to Amara so there was never much to put in the letters home. She slipped another smaller one in addressing her favorite house elf, Nirak, he was an older and grumpy elf, his preferred way of communication was scolding but Amara loved him. When she was old enough to take over their home she was ready to free him of his ownership and pray he'd still choose to stay even as a free elf. He was what made life at Hogwarts difficult at times. He wasn't here to comfort her when she'd feel down or get her favorite meal prepared. He was like a grandfather actually.
Her beautiful black owl with beaming yellow eyes took the letter in his beak, she patted his head carefully, not wanting to get bit. She watched as he flew off, the owl Gerik, flying off. Amara waited for a moment, wondering if she had made the right decision mention Cedric. Maybe they'd assume they had a sort of interest in each other, and that it's something that can put a halt in their future plans.
