“Goldgate!” Justin jumped when he heard the familiar voice of his Alpha friend, who looked like he had managed to get himself drunk. Sarge would only get himself drunk if he was really down in the dumps. “Yoooou’ve been missssin’ the party.” Sarge slung an arm over Justin’s shoulder and leant against him.

“Get off Sarge! You’re too heavy.” Sarge just grunts and continues to lean his entire body weight against his friend. Justin rolled his eyes and moved ever so slightly, making Sarge fall to the floor in a drunken heap. Of course, being the drunk he normally is, he starts laughing.

“You’re no fun.” Sarge states as he rolls onto his stomach before standing unsteadily. “I need to see her.”

“Oh no, not while you’re drunk Sarge.” Sarge eyed Justin and straightened his spine.

“Are you going to stop me?” He dared, growling at his friend.

“Sarge just think about this. You may do something that you’ll regret if you go now.”

“I don’t care. I’m going to see her. You can either follow or stay. Quite honestly, I don’t care.” Sarge doesn’t wait for an answer from his friend before he walks out the door, stumbling a little from his intoxication. Justin mutters something under his breath but doesn’t follow his friend; instead he busies himself around the celebrations.

Sarge walks to Danielle’s house and he stumbles up the stairs, falling slightly before knocking uncoordinatedly on the front door. He hears footsteps and tries to straighten himself as Reagan opens the front door. “Alpha Winters?” Reagan picks up the smell of alcohol on the young Alpha’s breath and frowns. “Are you drunk?”

“Maybe just a little.” He held his thumb and index finger close together as he spoke. “Is Danielle home?”

“Why?”

“I need to speak with her. It’s urgent.” Reagan narrowed his eyes and folded her arms across his chest.

“Come back when you’re sober.” Sarge growled in response to that but Reagan didn’t move from his position in the middle of the doorway. “Don’t growl at me Winters. You may be an Alpha, but I will not allow you inside my house while you are drunk.” He hissed.

“Uncle Reagan? Do you know where-“ She stops when she sees the confrontation at the front door. “Never mind, I can see you’re busy.” She walks away and then freezes as she hears a growl. She knew that it had come from her supposed mate and she had a pretty good idea of why he had growled. Danielle had walked out with a pair of tattered jean shorts that end just above her knees and a shirt that shows off her midriff. Not knowing that her mate was at the door, she wasn’t too worried about it, considering she walks around the house in those types of clothes most of the time.

“Danielle.” She turned her head slightly to give her mate a sideways glance. Sarge’s voice had lowered an octave.

“Not interested.” She brushed him off and continued walking away, earning another growl from her mate.

Sarge wasn’t going to budge from his spot on the porch and he knew full well that Reagan won’t be moving from his anytime soon. ”Just a quick talk. That’s all I’m asking.” Sarge wasn’t above begging and he would no doubt beg while under the influence.

“Fine. You hurt her and I hurt you. Understand?” Sarge nods and walks past Reagan as he moves out of the way. He resists the urge to run and walks into the kitchen where he saw Danielle walk into earlier.

As he walks into the room, he sees her sitting on the bench reading a newspaper and holding a glass with a red fluid in it. “So…. Good old Cerberus let you through the door. You should have stayed away.” She says without looking up from the paper.
