Four weeks. 28 days. Sarge had them all marked out on a calendar. That's how long it had been since Danielle left him, how many days they had been separated and how long the hole in his soul had been gaping far and wide.
He could just vaguely pick up on her emotional state, most of the time he had to search deep, deep down to find that connection that they share. Sarge had become like a shell. Walking around, trying to find things to do to take his mind off her. His wolf had become agitated, frequently coming to the surface. Sarge often found himself in the woods surrounding the pack house, in wolf form, burning off any of the agitation that was there.
If he occupied the pack house, he would lock himself away in his office, most of the time taking copious amounts of alcohol into the room and being found by Justin hours later in either a drunken stupor or passed out on the floor.
"He can't keep on going like this." Justin says quietly to Roman as they sit in the lounge room of the pack house watching a TV show that both of them know absolutely nothing about.
"You can't blame him dude. His mate basically rejected him. I mean, how would you feel if Silver ever did that to you?" Justin cut Roman off with a growl. "Exactly my point." He threw a grape into the air and caught it in his mouth before looking back towards the Beta.
"But that's just it. He didn't stop her... He didn't even try!" Justin yells only to have Roman hit him over the head with a rolled up magazine.
"And in case you've forgotten, Sarge gets himself drunk most days of the week, which is quite a feat considering our metabolisms, and he has just passed out drunk and is going to have one hell of a hangover when he wakes up. So shut the fuck up." Roman hissed as Justin rubbed the sore spot on his head.
"Alright, alright. We have to try and get in contact with Danielle somehow and get her to come back."
"You think that will work?" Justin shrugs.
"I don't know, but I think if we got her back we might see something that we've never seen before."
"What would that be?"
"Sarge getting down on his knees and begging for forgiveness." Roman chuckles.
"Now that would be a sight-" Their conversation was cut short when Sarge stumbled in, looking a bit like a zombie.
"You girls finished your yapping?"
"We were yapping? What does that even mean?" Roman asked, looking upside down at Sarge over the arm of the chair. Sarge scowled.
"I'm going for a run." By the time Roman or Justin had processed the words, he was gone.
"Man we really need to find Dani, and fast." Roman says.

Danielle on the other hand, had found sanctuary in her sister's pack. Temporarily until she can get back to W.A. She was sitting at a table, spinning a knife on the kitchen table. Her phone sat idly on the wooden surface, vibrating a few times as she got text messages.
Sighing, she places her head on the table and looks at the phone. It's not long after that she sees Chase enter the room. She practically ignores him, continuously alternating between glaring and staring at her phone. "What do you want Tyrone?" Danielle snapped after feeling Chase's stare on her for a number of minutes.
"Just taking in the image of a Sarcova who failed." Danielle growled at his words. "Must be hered-" He was cut off as Danielle got up and grabbed him by the throat, shoved him against the wall and snarled at him.
