Chapter 11: A date with Takumi

The next day at work when there wasn't any customers coming up to the counter to order anything, you would stand off to the side and be on your phone looking at stuff when a co-worker came up to you and asked "How do you like it so far?"

"Huh? Oh..it's only my second day so I'm not too sure yet." When you looked at the person who was talking to you, you almost wanted to just stare at them because the co-worker was a handsome guy who looked like he was somewhere in his mid 20s.

He smiled and laughed a little out of embarrassment. "You're right sorry...my name is Masaru by the way.   What's yours?"

"My name is (y/n)."

Masaru's smile got bigger when he said, "Oh that's a beautiful name.   I like it."

His words made you blush like crazy when you said, "Thanks."  When a customer approached the counter, it wasn't just any random person trying to order coffee.   It was your friend Kimi. "Kimi!" You said with excitement in your voice. "(Y/N)! I'm so happy to see you!" said Kimi as she watched you hurry out from behind the counter to hug her.

"I missed you! I'm so sorry I haven't kept in touch." You told her. She smiled at you after hugging you back then said "It's okay don't worry I heard from Mei." You smiled back then offered to make her a drink and she accepted the offer.

After making her a drink you guys sat down at a table to talk for a bit. You asked her how she's doing on her projects and everything else then she tells you about it and when she asks you about how you've been doing you kinda hesitated for a moment before telling her you've been trying to get a job and now you have one.

Should I ask her if she remembers Takumi..? Would that be okay? I haven't decided yet wether I should tell her and Mei about what's going on but I should at least ask to see what she remembers about him right?

"Kimi...do you remember a guy named Takumi?...from high school?" You asked her even though you were still kind of hesitant about it. She looked confused while thinking about it. "Takumi? hmm....oh! yeah that weird quiet guy who always tried to talk to you." said Kimi. You nodded then asked "Do you remember what he was like back then?"

"Hmm....not really. All I remember was that even though he was weird and quiet, he was actually really cute." Kimi said before taking a sip of her drink then she asked, "Why are you asking about him all of a sudden?" You hesitated again before responding. "Well....y'know I was just remembering some stuff from back then and I was just wondering if you happen to remember anything about him since he was one of our classmates."

Kimi nodded her head slowly. "I don't remember much about him since I barely knew him but...I do remember those times when he gave you your favorite drink and snacks." You nodded to then said "Yeah I remember that too! but I still can't remember if I told him about that stuff or not."

If I try asking him now about that I'm pretty sure he'll dodge the question or just give the usual response which is basically him saying, 'I just know.'  To almost anything I ask.

"I think he might've had a crush on you and maybe that's why he tried so much to get your attention." said Kimi before finishing her drink.   "Yeah I agree." You told her then afterwards Kimi stood up and said "I gotta go I'm a bit busy today but it was nice seeing you!" You stood up too and said the same thing before seeing her off.

Later into your shift it was kind of a slow day so you were able to get off early and so did Masaru.   Outside of work you were waiting for Takumi when Masaru came out and said, "It was nice working with you.   See you tomorrow!" You smiled and waved at him then watched him leave.

After that Takumi picked you up and instead of going home he took you to a restaurant. At the restaurant you guys ordered your food after being seated then you both sat quietly and awkward while waiting for your food.

I guess the date starts now...I wonder what we're gonna do after this. Should I ask?

"Where would you like to go after this?" Takumi asked. "Huh? Oh...um... you can decide. After all your the one who said we should go on a date." Takumi nodded as he turned a little red.

Is he embarrassed? Has he never gone out with anybody? Well neither have I since my chance with Kouta was ruined so I don't have any dating experience.

"After this let's do what you want to do." You told him.   Takumi liked the idea then he said, "Let's go bowling after this." You agreed to the idea.   When your food finally came, you both ate quietly.

Later you guys went bowling and played a few rounds where you ended up losing to Takumi.  Then after that you guys played in the arcade for a bit before going to a park to walk around because that was another thing Takumi wanted to do.

"You're really good at bowling.   I can't believe I lost to you!" You said while laughing about it.  Takumi just looked at you and smiled.  "I kind of went bowling a lot back in high school so I guess I became really good at it." You looked at him without saying anything then after looking away you asked, "What else are you good at?"

Takumi was quiet for a moment while he thought about it before telling you.  "I use to be good at soccer but I lost interest in it." You looked at him again and asked, "How come? Were you on a soccer team before?" Takumi shook his head in response.   "I played it for fun with friends a little bit back in middle school but then I stopped because they suddenly didn't want to play with me."

"Why not?....if you don't mind me asking." You told him.   Takumi stayed quiet while you two kept walking then he finally said, "I don't know.   They just suddenly all left me.  Guess it's because they were pretending to like me." After that it was quiet again between you two before he said "Anyway I'm also good at photography.   I really like it."

"Oh really? Do you keep your pictures in an album?" Takumi nodded in response after looking at you.   "Can I see them when we get back?" He looked at you again with hesitation before saying, "No." Then you asked, "Why not?" Takumi looked away while thinking of what to say.  "I don't want anyone to see them...they're really bad because they didn't come out the way I wanted them to and I keep them to compare them with my improved ones."

His response was a little fast even though he hesitated...I wonder why?

You guys walked around the park a little longer before Takumi said he wanted to go back home and watch a movie.

Back at Takumi's house after watching a movie you guys sat in the living room watching whatever was on tv when he asked "Did you have fun so far?" You nodded. "Can I ask something..?" He looked at you waiting to hear what you had to ask. "Can you get rid of the cage? It's uncomfortable...I promise I won't do anything to upset you." Takumi sighed and stayed quiet before finally saying, "Fine. I'm in a good mood today so I'll get rid of it."

Yes! No more sleeping in that damn cage!

"Great." You smiled and looked at the tv then Takumi said "You can have your phone back too...I guess." You were so happy about it that you ended up hugging him while thanking him over and over. He had a creepy smile on his face while hugging you back then he said, "Yes...your welcome."

"You're still not allowed to move around the house freely so don't even think about asking if you can." said Takumi before he got up to go remove the cage.

Yeah I won't ask about that now.  Gotta take it slow, at least I got to keep my phone.   You smiled while holding your phone close to you but then you started thinking about the conversation you guys had at the park.  I wonder if that room has those pictures he talked about..

You went upstairs looking for Takumi before standing in front of that room that was off limits. You were about to touch the doorknob when Takumi grabbed you by your wrist tightly, "What the hell do you think your doing?" he asked with a scary look on his face.

"I-I was just curious...I didn't mean-" He interrupted you by saying "I told you your not allowed to move around freely like before. God your so stupid." While he was still holding on to your wrist tightly, he took you to your room and pushed you inside. "Next time I catch you in front of that door I'll kill you." Takumi slammed the door shut before leaving.

With that reaction he's definitely hiding something in there. I must know what it is but that's gonna take awhile..
