ZAREENA

She was in Zurich for five weeks now.

When Amy had shown her the picture, the last photo she took, the photo she took right before the crash happened, she fainted. That was how excited she was, though it was a little embracing.

She thought that she couldn't take it, but it seems like she did. She had been carrying her freedom in her jeans pocket for nearly twelve months and she was unaware of it. She would have still, if Amy hadn't shown it to her. If she had just stopped being pathetic and looked the pictures in the first place, everything would have been different. But, she was, in a way, happy that she hadn't seen it. she never thought that she would think like that but, here she was, not wanting to prove the world that she was innocent because the only people who she really valued, cared and loved knew it. If she had seen that picture she would never had met James and now she couldn't imagine a life without him.

The picture she took, her back against the dash board, was a little blurry. In the corner of the picture, a truck was coming their way. It was too fast and dark but, the camera of her phone was powerful enough to capture the license plate number but, it was too dark to see who the driver was.

Now, she was minutes away from going into the court room again. And she loathed it. She didn't like to go in there even if it means to prove her innocence.

During the trials, she was a fidgeting, stammering mess. Her parents came and her Aunt was sitting near them. Arden's mom was there too. That made her remind herself to ask her about Arden's twin, aka James, if she was in talking terms with her.

They managed to find the truck driver. Of course he had changed his drivers license and the license plate but, her parents reputation and money got the job done easily.

The man accepted that he fell asleep during the drive and crashed into them that night and he ran away when he saw them drown in the lake.

She felt bad for him. Even if he had done a crime, she felt depraved to put another man in jail for her freedom. She knew how it felt to be guilty, to be accused. But, there was a difference between them. He had done something wrong and she didn't.

She was freed of all charges and that man had to go to jail.

It had been nearly two months without James. It was only then she understood how much he helped her to be in the reality, how much he helped her to be sane. She was depressed than ever. She always remembered his goofy smiles, stupid jokes, caring hugs....she missed him to a point where the ache was physical. She had so many shocks all when she remembered James. She would call him every night to give him an update on what's going on and how she's trying to talk to Arden' mother and how the secret research she said to one of her trusty servants to do but, mostly she called him just hear his voice. She told the others about her theory about Arden and James being twins. It wasn't a theory, she knew that she was right.

Her friends supported her before she went to the trial. They all wished her luck. They were all convinced that they were coming with her but she managed to make them stay saying that she would come back immediately after it was all over.

She was in her old room, reading a book when a Arden's mother came inside.

'Choco?' she used the silly nickname she came up with considering her addiction for chocolate and it made her cry. 'Oh love' she came and hugged her with motherly love that she lacked all her life and it made her cry even more.

'I am so....s-sorry' Zareena managed in between sobs.

'I am the one who should say sorry sweet' She broke the hug and whipped the tears in Zareena's cheeks. 'I am the one who's sorry. I should have been with you. I knew that what you're parents said about you was wrong. I knew but I was so sad that A-Arden.....'
