James

Zareena was cool but, sometimes she was weird.

She was like a thousand piece puzzle that was very hard to solve.

They've only spend a day together but, why does he feel like he knows her better than anyone? Why does he feel like he had known her for a life-time?

She was very different from anyone he knew. She had had an aura that radiated warmth, even if she was ice-cold to the touch, her rare smiles sent that warmth straight to his bones and made him all mushy inside. It made him feel like home. But, sometimes she radiated a totally different vibe. Pain and guilt flowed from her that it even made others around her drown in it and feel the exact same too!!

Sometimes she was very hard to miss, sometimes she was invisible! And her mood swings were killing him. She's over-flowing with joy now and the next moment she'd crumble down in misery like a rain cloud. So hard to understand.

She was the exact opposite of him. He was predictable, coordinated, well-behaved, while she was wild, repulsive, mischievous, mysterious, uncoordinated....he could go on and on.

She was the kind of person that made his instincts scream to move away from her.

But, look where he was now? Spending time in the house of probably, the creepiest girl in the whole school.

It reminded him of her recent events; how she broke the bottle because of her overpowering temper, how she harmed herself....it sent shivers down his spine, literally.

He was thinking about what she told about her parents accident. It was obvious that she was lying. She didn't even show a hint of emotion when she said what happened and her scar? She said that it was cut when the windshield broke and she said that it was stitched. He didn't see any stitch being applied to that wound and he knew, by experience, the difference between a glass pierce and a cut that was caused by a blade or a knife. And he also knew that if Zareena wanted to harm herself, she wouldn't think twice! But, he understood that there must be a reason why she lied to him. Why would she tell him personal? let alone trust him? They've only just got to know each other.

Zareena's aunt, Julie, was a different story. Now, he wasn't judging people but, she seems a little less grown for her age. Physically and mentally. She looked noting like Zareena though. She had a sun-kissed golden tan and dark brown wavy hair. Her eyes were like burning ember. Julie and Zareena shared the same physical size but, Zareena was a little bit thinner than Julie. She acted the same way Zareena did when she saw him. Shock was all over her face and then slowly began to pale when she finally grasped the reality that James was a real person. She almost came to poke him to see if he was real.

'What is it with them and meeting people?'

Then she dragged Zareena to the kitchen and started screeching at her.

It was supposed to be a privet conversation but, James couldn't help but eavesdrop.

'Zareena are you crazy?' Julie asked. 'What are you doing? Did you even consider the consequences?'

'I don't know Julie.' Zareena's voice cracked like she was in the verge of tears. 'I really don't know. But I do know that I was genuinely happy when he was with me. He'll help me recover. I know he will'

'What did she mean?' he thought. What did she need help with? And how can I help her?

He decided not to eavesdrop on them after that.
