Chapter 1- New Life

Katniss POV
6:00 am

"Bye Gale," I told him as I give him a hug. He is moving to District 2. His dad got a new job there to make more money. I hate that I have to let my best friend go. We had so many memories together that I just don't want them to end. "Hey, Catnip, just so you know, I'm going to miss you and we will talk to each other everyday," Gale responded. "Okay?" "Okay, but it won't be the same as talking to you in person," I answer. "See ya." And he just left me... stranding there. I just see him walk away. Just like that. I went back inside to go up the bunch flights of stairs of my apartment. I went inside and saw my sister Prim. She's 13 years old and good at being a doctor like my mom. But she isn't around anymore. But new neighbors are coming over and taking over Gale's house. Maybe they'll keep me company. But the problem is, I've never been really good with people and I'm really tired. That's all. I went to take a nap and let sleep overtake me.

9:00 am

Three hours later, I woke up again and saw that the new neighbors finally arived and they look like they're from the merchant class, higher than the seam class that Prim and I are in. I take a peek out the window and ran so that they don't see me. They live right next door and I don't want to cause harm, like usual and I have no social life so it's not like anybody would want to hangout with me. So, I changed into something more casual: I put on a nice sweatpants and a t-shirt. What? I want to look nice if I go meet them. These people don't want to meet someone dirty and nasty, they want to meet someone nice, clean, and super cool. Boys are just overrated. So, should I go? I mean, do I have to? I'm scared. So what? Should I? No? Yes? All of these questions are going through my head and I don't know what to do. I'm pacing back and forth sweating like crazy. Am I really that nervous? Answer. Is. Yes. I. Am. Super. Nervous. I ran off to exercise in the park, went down the stairs, until I bumped into someone. It was one painful bump.
