Chapter 11- Distance

Primrose's POV
Same Day.......

Although I am here crying and heartbroken, Katniss is still at the Mellark's talking to Peeta. He's a good guy and I respect that. I kept crying holding on to my pillow, regretting my life. As I was about to throw my things across the room, Katniss comes rushing in with Peeta. "Prim!" She yells. "Are you out of your mind?" Peeta seems worried, maybe more worried. "Prim, Ryan wonders what he did wrong to make you feel sad," Peeta assures me. Oh no. He's worried about me? What about Juliana? Isn't he happy with her? I mean really.
Peeta and Katniss gives me a worried look. I don't know if I can see him again. "Come on," Peeta convinces me.
"Let's go to the bakery." Peeta grabs my hand and draggs me to the bakery. I don't think I can stand being with Ryan after what happened. He opens the door and the whole family was there talking to Ryan. Even upset he looks adorable. Prim what are you thinking? As I walked in to grab the cookies, I see Ryan staring at me and he waves. I wave back sadly and he walks up to me. "Can me and this girl talk alone?" He refers to Katniss and Peeta. There was silence and they both left leaving me and him alone.

"Look, I'm sorry," I stammer trying to say this. "I shouldn't have ran in the first place. He looks at me smiling. "Why did you anyway?" He asks. What? He asked me that? "I can't tell you," I admit. "Is it because it's private?" He teases. "Yes," I say seriously. We both smile at each other and I look deeper into his eyes and I feel myself getting closer to him. Our bodies were pressed against each other until I said one thing. "So Ryan, how's Juliana?" He smiles at me again. Man I love his smile and personality. He's like the mini-Peeta. Sweet and complex. Oh wait, not complex but..... oh forget it. "She's good," he says. He realized that we were so close that he pulls away. "Sorry," he says. "That's alright," I respond. "See you sometime," I say leaving.

Katniss' POV

I was eavesdropping you know. Prim and Ryan look so cute together but he's got a girlfriend and I have to admit , she's pretty. damn I wish that prim and Ryan would be together because they would make such a great couple. As I was going to leave, Peeta stops me. "Katniss. Take these," he says giving me a batch of cookies. "Okay," I say. "Bye." He says bye back and we both go our seperate ways. Me and Prim walked home and I saw a fruit basket filled with buns from Peeta.

I take one and put it in my mouth. It was so delicious and tasty and I thought Prim agrees. We almost ate the whole thing. As I was helping Prim study for a test coming up, a text came from my mom. The message was not positive.

Where were you? I called you before and you didn't answer.

Holy shit. I don't know how to respond. I decided to text her with this:

Went to get something to eat with Prim

I think she believed me so she just replied with an okay. I was so proud of myself for pulling this off. I went back to studying with Prim, really hoping to ace this test. She's smart so she really gets it. After a few hours of studying, I got tired and fell asleep happily.
