Back To School - Part 14

Back To School - *Smarty's POV*

It had been a couple of months since the fire at the festival and even though Conor had only woke up a month ago he was doing amazing, he only obtained second degree burns and a broken ankle. Yet he didn't remember the accident nor the festival.. I had no way to get Maddie back now.. Everyday life wasn't the same though...

Our Sunday night game nights now included Chilled..

Emily was only ever a couple of meters away at any one time...

"Unlce John?" I snapped out of my thoughts as he smiled 

"Yeah?" I realised he wanted help trying to fit his shoe on over the bandage that was now the only thing left of his broken ankle

"Thankyou" He laughed as I fished tying the lace

"Can we go see Maddie once school finishes today?" He looked up at Emily and Chilled

"No buddy.." Chilled grabbed his bag and he gave me one more hug

"I miss her.." He whispered in my ear before following his father

*Conor's POV*

I sat in my new class with Mrs Cooper, she had to be the worst teacher I've had plus she was slow and old... Pretty much she wasn't Miss Sanderson..

"We wanted to come welcome Conor back to school" Ryan poped his head in 

"Does your teacher know your here!?" She yelled

"It was my idea" I jumped up as Miss Sanderson walked in the door holding a teddy bear with Uncle John's yellow shirt on it 

"They thought you would like it" She smiled handing it to me as I hugged her

"Can I talk to you at lunch?" I whispered as she nodded

"I promise I wont tell dad" She smiled softly

"Buddy how are you!?" Adam and Ryan yelled as we all hugged

"Conor none of us missed you" Mary joked before jumping on me 

"Why did you change classes!?" Adam asked

"My parents" I replied

"Was it cause of the accident at the festival?" Mary asked

"Accident? Festival?" I looked puzzled

"You were on the ride that broke and that's how you got burnt and broke your ankle" Ryan looked at me

That's when everything started to come back... I went with Uncle John as punishment because of the fight between Maddie and myself... But that was all that happened right?

"Hello?" I asked knocking on the door

"Hey Conor, have a seat" I nodded sitting down

"Miss Sanderson what happened at the festival?" She dropped her stack of paper, avoiding eye contact

"Nothing..." 

"Please.. I remember going with Uncle John because of the fight we had and then you arrived... It explains why I like you all of a sudden" She sighed kneeling in front of me

"John wanted to talk as you were being a child and so he gave you money to go have fun with Ryan and Adam, while doing that you would leave us alone and avoid your parents..."

"Well that rings a bell.. Did everything go good on the walk?"

"Sadly no, we went to say our true feelings and the ride collapsed, we ran back looking f-"

"Conor!" Chilled's voice boomed into the room 

"Dad!" I yelled

"Anthony!" Maddie jumped 

"I told you to stay away from her!" He yelled grabbing my arm

"Why? What did she do!?" He pulled my shirt up revealing the burn marks

"If she didn't convince John to leave you this wouldn't of happened"

"Anthony I didn't wa-" She pleaded

"Shut up!" He spat back

"It was Uncle John's idea!" I screamed

"Is that the lie she told you?!" He dropped me onto the ground walking over to her

"No! I remember!" I yelled jumping in between them

"How would you remember your a kid!?" 

"Lets prove it with John then, my story to his!" Dad looked around before giving in as we left Maddie with what little peace she had
