Faiz

"You are an a****le!" I yelled after Hamza, who just laughed.

We were on a hiking trail in Yorkshire, and he was saying that I wasn't fit enough, which was a lie. I was barely recovering from the food poisoning, or 'stress poisoning', as Anaya had put it, and I still felt relatively weak.

God, I miss Anaya. I couldn't help thinking, feeling like a bloody Romeo.

We were accompanied by Dania's jaith, Ismael and Hania's cousin from her father's side, Omar, who was around our age.

I took a swig of water from my bottle, before putting it back in my bag.

"This is beautiful." Ismael stared out at the view before us. It was a cloudy, misty day, and that added to the beauty of our location. A narrow creek flowed between moss covered rocks, with trees bordering it on either sides. The water seemed to flow into a thick fog, creating a gothic atmosphere.

Our resident photographer, Hamza, was busy taking photos with his professional camera.

"It is beautiful. And the air actually feels cleaner." I inhaled deeply. I turned to look at Ismael. "Weird time to ask, bro, but how's Dani?"

I missed Dani's silliness, her self-obsession, and the way we all always teased her.

"She's very happy, they both are. Alhumdulillah." Ismael smiled reassuringly at me. "Hamza actually threatened him to take good care of her, because she's like a little sister to him."

"So, Hamza threatened his wife's cousin?" I chuckled.

"He knows that he is the Damad of the family and nobody will say anything to him, especially not Papa." Ismael laughed as well.

"Hamza is an idiot, but he's a loyal one." I glanced towards my friend, who was still taking photos.

"I heard that." Hamza muttered.

A bird chirped in the tree above, making me think about my twins. They loved sitting on the window seat of our bedroom with Anaya, watching the 'birdies', as my wife called them. Once a bird had been sitting on the window ledge, and Farhaan and Aizah had both gotten overexcited, slamming their little hands against the window, scaring it off. I smiled at the thoughts of my adorable little ducklings.

"Our Faizan is missing his Anaya." Hamza must have noticed me lost in thoughts with a smile on my face.

"My name is not Faizan, you pr**k!" I shook my head.

"Hey, how about FaizAna for a couple name?" He continued on, ignoring me.

Omar and Ismael laughed, also used to Hamza's silliness.
