It's been about a month since me and Spencer have started talking, we have taken things slow. We hung out as much as we could, which wasn't a lot, but it was something. Today, Spencer wanted to bring me to this fancy restaurant in D.C. I protested at first, saying I couldn't have him pay that much for me, but he insisted.

After I finally agreed to go with him, I realized I didn't have anything to wear that was appropriate for that kind of restaurant. I mainly wore scrubs and business casual clothes, and I also kept some pretty revealing outfits from college and med school. So I enlisted the help of none other than my self proclaimed fashionista best friend- Leah.

We ended up at Nordstrom looking through all of the dresses. I probably tried on at least 15 dresses, all of them being "too much" or "too little". At this point I was getting pretty frustrated, I really wanted to look good for Spencer but all this dress shopping was starting to hurt my brain.

After a bit more looking, my eyes caught a beautiful plain black, long sleeve dress with a slit going up my leg. I went to the dressing room and put it on and instantly fell in love.

I walked out of the fitting room to see Leah sitting on the bench.

She looked up from her phone, "OMG you look stunning, you have a kinda sorta Morticia Addams vide going on!" She rushed over to me to get a closer look.

I gave her a slightly confused look, "is that bad?"

"No, no, no, it's definitely your vibe, I love it!" She was right, I did love my dark colors. Leah always tried to make me wear something more colorful, but I always refused.

I went back to the dressing room and changed, then went out to pay for it. We went back home and I started to get ready- shower, hair, makeup, the whole 9 yards. I looked through my clothes for some black heels and put them on.

I was sitting on the couch on my phone when I heard a knock at the door. I got up and looked in the peephole to see Spencer standing there. I opened the door welcoming him in.

"Hey Rose," he said while revealing a bouquet of flowers he was holding behind his back.

I took the flowers from him, "these look lovely Spencer," I said as I went in for a hug.

"Definitely not as lovely as you," he responded, my cheeks heating up.

"Aw look at the lovebirds!"

We turned around to see Leah standing there with her phone, definitely taking pictures. She stepped forward to introduce herself.

"Hi I'm Leah, I work with Rose!"

"Well I'm Spencer, you probably know that but."

"I'm so glad I could finally meet you!" She exclaimed, "I wanted to meet the guy who makes Rose so happy."

She smiled, going back to her room to give us some space. I put the flowers in a vase filled with water, then grabbed my purse to leave. We went outside to the parking lot, Spencer rushed to the passenger side to open the door for me.

"Thank you kind sir," I joked as I sat in his car.

We drove for about 30 minutes when we arrived at the restaurant, it was beautiful, and very busy. We walked in, linking arms. We went up to the hostess stand and checked our name off the reservation list. We were led to a table in the back of the room. Spencer pulled my chair out for me and I thanked him.

I started to look over the menu and I realized how expensive everything really was, "Spence, I can't have you pay for mine, it's really expensive."

He looked up and connected his hand with mine, "no it's not, it's fine, order what you want."

The waiter came over and took our order and we heave him the menus back. Spencer and I started to talk more about ourselves and our childhood. I told him I had two older brothers that would do anything to protect me and my mom and dad were still together. I learned that Spencer was an only child and his parents split after his mother's schizophrenia got worse and she was eventually institutionalized. I felt bad for him since he really wasn't able to have a "normal" childhood, but I kept the sympathy to myself because I know how annoying it can get.

We talked about movies and books we liked and how music is more of an influence than we might think. I felt so in my element when he let me blab about random medical stuff, most people don't want to hear me talk. It was such a refresher to find someone so much like me.

After about an hour, we finished our food and I eventually surrendered and let Spencer pay. We got up and walked out of the restaurant hand in hand. It was dark outside, the moon and stars shining on the busy D.C. streets.

As we were walking it started to get a bit chilly, for some odd reason I'm not good with temperature change and I started to shiver. Spencer noticed and took his suit coat off, wrapping it around my shoulders, his hand settling in the small of my back.

We walked for a while longer and ended up in a park. I've been here a few times when I've explored the city, but I've never really appreciated it's beauty. We ended up standing on the path near a lake.

"It looks so pretty out tonight," I stated, looking up at the stars, trying to pick out constellations in dark sky.

"It may be pretty, but you are the most beautiful girl I've ever met," Spencer said as he faced me, placing his hands on my hips. I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"You don't look to bad yourself Dr. Reid."

He smiled, then quickly look at my lips then back up to my eyes. I smiled, pulling his slightly loser with my arms. His eyes were lit up- golden brown, his lips looked so soft, I swear his smile would be the death of me.

Finally, Spencer started to lean in, I closed my eyes and mimicked his actions. Our lips finally met, it felt like fireworks were exploding inside of me. His hands ran up and down my sides. I moved one hand to his gorgeous brown hair and intertwined my fingers. After a minute we backed up, putting our foreheads together.

"Wow," I said as that was all I could say, that had to have been the best kiss of my entire life. He was so gentle and soft, but passionate at the same time.

"Wow is right."

a/n- they kissed🤩😎 cute little lovebirds
ok so the next chapter will be kinda sad and will deal with Rose's past. It should be up relatively soon bc I already have like 3/4 of it done lol. For some reason hurt/comfort chapters are easier for me to write than fluffy ones whoops.
