Spencer's POV:
I hate hospitals, every time I'm here it seems as if only bad things happen. Whether it be because we are interviewing a victim or one of our own is hurt.
On the other hand, Rose loves the hospital. She would tell me all the time that the smell of the horrible carcinogenic cleaners and the general hospital smell would oddly put her at ease. I guess it makes sense for someone who wanted to be a medical doctor their whole life.
I sit in the waiting room, my leg bouncing out of nervousness. JJ and Emily are sitting next to me trying to comfort me. Rossi is with Derek back at the station doing interviews. Hotch is standing in the corner of the room with his usual blank face, you can never tell what that man is thinking. Penelope is getting clothes from my apartment because she knows i won't be leaving any time soon. Lastly there is Rose's best friend Leah, she's sitting on the other side of the room from us because she doesn't really know us. I can see that her eyes are all puffy and red, I know how much she cares for Rose.
We haven't gotten an update since they put her under and that has been 4 hours and 15 minutes ago. I know she lost a lot of blood and there could be some internal damage, so I try to prepare myself.
Who am I kidding? I can't do this again- everyone leaving or dying. First it was my father, then Elle, then Gideon, then Emily, then Gideon again, and Maeve. I don't think I can mentally handle this job anymore if I loose Rose.
"For Dr. Corman?" I hear a nurse say. I immediately get up and rush over, the team and Leah following.
"Is she ok?" Leah asks frantically.
The doctor looks at us, "As of right now she is stable."
I feel a weight being lifted off my chest even though I know there is more to be said.
"But she did loose a lot of blood, we had to do multiple transfusions. The next 24 hours will be crucial as she is not entirely out of the woods yet. She is pretty weak so she may not wake up for a bit."
"Can I go see her?" I ask.
"She is still in the post-op area but when she is moved to a room a nurse will come get you."
"Thank you," Hotch says, the doctor nods and walks away.
JJ hugs me, "she will be ok."
"You don't know that."
"I know but she is strong, she's been through some tough times, this will just be a memory one day."
I give her a half-assed smile and go back to my seat and wait for the nurse to come get me.
———————
About an hour later a nurse comes and gets me and Leah. There is really only supposed to be one visitor but since both Leah and Rose work here, they were able to pull some strings.
Leah basically ran down the hallway, so once I got to the room she was already sitting next to her rubbing her arm. I always thought their relationship was great, they were always there for each other, I know Leah helped Rose through everything when she was raped.
I stand at the doorway for a moment to prepare myself then I go in. As I go in Leah gets up.
"I'll leave you two alone," she says as she wipes a tear from her eye, "I know she would want you here."
"Thanks," I say and walk over to Rose. I slide the chair over and sit next to her. I move some of the stray pieces of hair out of her face. She looks so peaceful, even though I know she just went through hell.
