She Notices

Asuna notices.

She notices that he cant help but have a tiny sparkle in his eyes when they're about to enter the next floor for the first time.

She notices that whenever she asks him a question about the game, he answers with an innocent passion she'd never seen before.

She notices that every time they encounter a higher level mob, he takes a step in front of her. A tiny step.

She notices when he's had nightmares at night and wasn't able to sleep. He has the slightest fogginess in his eyes, but he smiles at her anyway and promises he's alright.

She notices that he can tell when she's uneasy or doubting herself. And he reassures her every time with a soft tone that always calms her down. She doesn't know how, but it does.

She notices that the way he looks at her is different from the way he looks at everyone else. She doesn't know why it is, but she notices.

Asuna notices the little things about Kirito.

And the little things make her smile.
