Days had passed until finally, their day of rest came. Asuna decided to use this day as a chance to thank Kirito and spent her morning preparing her gift. Once she was finally satisfied, she set out to find him.

She first decided to check his dorm. She knocked lightly and tightened her grip on the woven basket.

What am I doing? She thought to herself. Before she could answer her question, the door opened to reveal Eugeo standing in front of her.

"Miss Asuna? What brings you here?" He asked, his smile quickly turning into a look of concern. "Kirito hasn't been bothering you, has he?"

Asuna shook her head. "No, not yet anyway. I was actually looking for him. Is he here?"

Eugeo frowned. "No, he's not. Are you feeling alright, Miss Asuna?"

"Hm? Of course I am, why?"

"You're looking for Kirito, but you aren't mad at him. That's pretty rare." He shrugged as he explained.

She crossed her arms. "Geez, I'm not always so stuck-up. I just wanted to thank him for the honey pie."

He nodded. "O-Of course, my apologies Miss Asuna. He left early this morning, and he's been gone since."

"Huh? What could he possibly be doing for that long?" Asuna questioned. "Did he go into town?"

"Not a clue," Eugeo shrugged. "He does this pretty often on days of rest. In the end, I decided I'd rather not know what he's up to."

"Oh well," she sighed and bowed slightly. "I'll have to keep looking. Thanks for your help."

"Um—No problem, Miss Asuna!" He bowed back. "I'm sorry I couldn't be much help!"

Asuna reassured the boy and set off to search for Kirito. She checked the dining hall, the training hall, even the garden—she couldn't find him anywhere.

"Maybe he did go into town," she thought aloud. I'd really rather not look through the whole town, but I may have to.

As she began to set off toward the marketplace, she heard an odd noise in the bushes. Curious, she turned and followed the sound. Eventually, the noise had become more clear, and she was able to identify it as a snore.

"A fox maybe?" She muttered, peering around a tree. She found a small clearing surrounded by more trees and bushes, and something in the center—no, someone.

Asuna walked over quietly and crouched. Sure enough, it was Kirito. He was sprawled out fast asleep in the clearing, with his sword laying next to his outstretched hand.

"How careless!" She whispered to herself. Not only was it a taboo to train on days of rest, but he was napping in the middle of a forest completely unguarded.

As she made a move to shake him awake, he stirred and rested his head against her leg. She froze and blushed instantly, unsure what to do. Kirito had such a peaceful expression, she couldn't bring herself to slap him.

With a sigh, the primary swordswoman shifted into a more comfortable position beside him and tried to will herself to relax. She opened her basket and pulled out a sandwich, checking the remaining life.

With the way it's draining, she noted in her head, they should have another hour of life left.

A small sound pulled her from her thoughts. she blinked and looked down, locking eyes with the half-awake Kirito whose head was still resting on her leg.

"Must be dreaming," he mumbled. Asuna shoved him off and shimmied away from him. He let out a strangled squawk as his head thudded on the ground.

"How long have you been awake?!" She interrogated, glaring at him.
