As I make my way to the detention room I am suddenly hit by the fact that I will see my partner later today but I won't know it. Don't get me wrong I am by no means in love with this guy but just the fact that on paper we seem to be a perfect match was enough to have me curious. And we interact well too apparently.

I sit down at my usual desk again and watch as the teacher begins to drift off to sleep again. Not even disturbed by kids coming into the room. All of them just leave their slips on the desk and walk back out. Such quality supervision.

"Yeah, I'll see you before the game.'' I hear a familiar voice say before Levi enters the room.

I ignore him minding my own business. I don't feel like doing homework today, I mean it's Friday come on, so I decided to doodle away the time.

However, I have no idea what to draw. I look around to see if I can find something to copy but instead, I see Levi texting on his phone.

"I thought there were no phones allowed in detention?" I ask resting my chin in my hand to look at him.

"He's never even awake, he won't mind," he says, throwing a pointed look at the man at the front desk.

"Who you texting?" I ask. Call me nosey, there isn't much else to do in here anyway.

"I was trying to text whoever my partner is but she hasn't responded." he says putting his phone in his pocket and turning his attention to me, "Why? Are you jealous?"

"Pff she's probably ignoring you," I say rolling my eyes.

"You didn't say you weren't jealous."

"I thought it was clear I wasn't. I would have to like you to be upset."

"Well according to your friends you only flirt with me, which I think counts," he says with a smirk. Good god, this boy is overly confident in his face. Especially when one punch could disfigure it permanently.

"I'm not flirting with you, I never have."

"Your friends disagree. So does the blush on your face."

If I wasn't blushing before I was now. Which is dumb, I don't like Levi.

"I am willing to bet anything that I don't like you and I never will." I cross my arms across my chest and will the light heat on my face to go away. "Do not mistake my politeness for interest."

"I would never do such a thing, Taylor," he says with a smirk.

God, he is so annoying. I don't know why this is bothering me but it is. He has no right to pretend that he knows me, much less how I feel about him.

"Are you excited for the game?" he asks after a while of me not making an effort to continue the conversation.

"Yeah sure." I feel an idea creep into my head before I turn my head away from Levi. "I'm sure Oliver will score enough goals to win us the game, I hope you play whatever part you have and stay out of his way."

"Excuse you? I am very good at what I do. If anything Oliver needs to stay out of my way."

"Nah I don't think so, I was there at the tryouts, Oliver definitely has the upper hand here."

"Tryouts were the first time I played in a long while, I was rusty," he says and I watch as his brows scrunch up together.

"Even if that was true you are far less graceful than him. Even in day-to-day life, he isn't as chunky in his movements as you are."
