"That doesn't make sense!"
"Yes, it does!" Levi huffs and puts his head on my mattress.
That's how we are right now. I'm sitting cross-legged on my bed while he kneels on the edge, a textbook between us.
"Okay let's pretend you are teaching me this section," he says, his head still on the bed.
"Fine, so you make like a triangle thing here. And you do the python theory-"
"Pythagorean theorem but whatever, keep going," Levi says not taking his eyes off the book.
I don't think I'll ever get over how beautiful he looks when he is focusing. He almost reminds me of one of those statues you see in museums. However, Levi is alive and breathing and that makes him much more attractive.
"Okay, so you make the long leg C and this leg B and fill in the equation. Then you do the house thing-"
"No, not yet you need to square, subtract and then find the square root."
"Is that the house thing?" I ask, becoming frustrated that I still haven't gotten the hang of it.
"Yes that is the house thing." he sighs putting his head down again.
I groan. "I need a break, want a snack?" I ask him, standing up and stretching. My back cracks and Levi looks at me with a look of horror.
"Was that you?"
"Yeah? Haven't you cracked your back before?" I am confused. As a soccer player, I would have thought he knew how to crack his neck or something.
"Not on purpose!" he says and I laugh.
I offer him my hand and he takes it as he stands. "We probably have leftover pizza. How do you feel about pineapple on pizza?"
"Is this a trick question? Who puts fruit on pizza?" Levi replies scrunching up his nose.
"Tomato," I say as we approach the kitchen and Levi sits at the bar.
"What about it?"
"It's a fruit and in every type of pizza."
"Tomato is not a fruit you nut job, it's a vegetable."
"No, it is a fruit. It has seeds which mean fruit."
"What are you guys arguing about?" Mom asks after we had finished our pizza.
"Mom this is Levi, Levi this is my mom. Anyways he refuses to believe that tomato is a fruit." I tell her as I open a cupboard looking for something sweet.
"How did you guys even get on this topic? Weren't you going to his place to study?" she asks but Levi answers for me. I have found the secret chocolate stash.
"Yeah but we figured it was safer to study here than ride in the rain," he says as his eyes land on me. I smile, thankful he didn't tell my mom about my nightmare or my reaction to the thunder.
"That sounds like a good idea. If the rain doesn't let up you can always crash on the couch Levi. I'd rather bring some blankets downstairs than risk you driving out in a storm." Mom says before turning to me. "If you guys really want to settle the argument just look it up on your phone Tay."
As soon as she steps out of the kitchen I begin climbing onto the counter to reach the chocolate.
"What are you doing?" Levi asks with his voice laced in amusement.
