Third pov

The radio was their guide to finding Dom and soon enough, they were pretty much face to face with him.

Ray wondered how she could play this to not make it look like she was going rogue.

"Guys, I know why Dom's here. Police scanners are saying he stole a nuclear football."

Of course the terrorist had her husband stealing nuclear launch code.

Hobbs voice through the speakers was background noise while she tried to catch Dom's eyes.

They met, and she gave him a nod. She hoped he understood that she was on his side.

Dom's expression softened for just a second. Then he stepped on the gas, tricking Nobody Junior into giving him an out.

The group set off after him and she heard Tej's voice over the radio. "Now I know what it's like to be every police ever chasing us."

"I'm gonna get a little closer. I'm gonna PIT him." Nobody Junior told them.

Ray shook her head at that.

"Oh, so, you're just gonna PIT Dom? Little Nobody has clearly lost his little mind." Roman unconsciously agreed apparently.

They sped through the streets, people screaming and getting out of their way. At one point another car managed to hit the line they were supposed to trap Dom with. To her relief it was trashed.

Tej was the first to trap Dom once they caught up with him. The others were quick to follow suit.

"My wire is broken. Another car hit me on the way here." She said over the radio.

Her anxiety were going off the charts seeing Dom trapped and knowing his reasons.

Much to her relief the wires couldn't hold him for long.

Seeing him take off on foot, she followed parking her car and taking a shortcut to follow. She arrived just in time to see Dom shoot Deckard. She didn't actually feel a lot of sympathy for the other man.

Ray squashed her nerves, ran up and grabbed the suitcase.

"Ray!"

She could hear him follow her through an alley and onto a backstreet where she stopped.

Dom looked so confused it was almost adorable, but they didn't have the time. She pushed the suitcase into his hand, making sure the crumpled note ended up in his hand too.

"They'll be here soon. Go."

Instead of arguing he nodded.

His retreating footsteps felt almost final in a way she didn't like.

Her phone started ringing.

Unknown number.

Time skip

Magdalena Shaw was a miracle worker.

Ray had been squirreld away straight from the scene, with no one any wiser.

"It's good to meet you face to face, mrs Toretto." Mrs Shaw shook her hand. "We'll be talking with my sons son, but first, there's someone else you'll want to see."

The house she'd been taken to seemingly acted like a safe house. Although not a very hidden one as it was on the outskirts of a rich neighborhood.

"Ray!"

Mia almost threw herself at her. Ray let herself melt into the hug.

"I'm so happy to see you're okay. Where's the others?"

Mia pulled her with into another room where Brian was laying on one bed with Jack sleeping in another.

Brian didn't say anything, just opened his arms for a hug. Ray accepted it.

"Can you fill us in on what's going on?" Brian asked.

Ray nodded. "There's this woman, Cipher, we've apparently squashed her attempts to get something she wants several times. Now she's kidnapped Angie to force Dom into getting it for her."

Mia frowned. "Do the others know?"

Ray shook her head. "Thanks to mrs Shaw Dom managed to get the info to me. But we're afraid of what Cipher will do if everyone finds out. And I don't trust a shady government organization to have my childs best interests at heart."

Brian nodded. "That's for the best. Do you have any plans?"

"I think Dom has one. Mrs Shaw said she'd need to talk to both me and her sons later."

"Auntie Ray?" A sleepy voice came from behind them.

Jack had sat up, still half asleep and rubbing his eyes.

"Hey Jack." Ray got up and went over to her nephew's bed. He clung to her as soon as she was close enough. "Hey buddy. How have you been?"

"There where some bad men in our home." Jack said. "They hurt daddy."

"I know, buddy. But they're never coming close to you again. I promise." She continued to stroke his back for a while, the air in the room seeming a little less tense by the minute.

Mia came and put Jack back to bed at the same time the door opened to reveal a body guard. "Mrs Shaw needs to speak with you."

Time skip

"You've already met Deckard. So let's get down to buisness." Magdalena sat down on a chair.

"Cipher has your daughter, and she's the reason my other son is in prison. Your husband's plan is that Deckard and Owen get onto the plane, save your daughter and kill Cipher. Any questions?"

Ray nodded. "What can I do?"

Deckard answered. "Dom is being followed by Ciphers favorite attack dog, his name is Rhodes." He put a picture down in front of her. "He's the guy that beat up your brother. You need to follow Dom and take Rhodes out as soon as I have your kid."

"Alright, how do I get to them?"

"Oh, we'll take care of that." Mrs Shaw told her.
