AJ'S POV

My leg was shaking because the chief glared at Alexis. I had a feeling he was going to throw out Alexis's case. There was only one thing that could save this case. "Um, pardon me Chief Vandirin"I said with a smile. He averted his glare from Alexis to me. I stood in place wondering if my request would be accepted or denied.

"What is it HVIC Alexandra"he said holding back his anger.

"If there are no objections, may we break please?"I asked as I used my powers lightly on him. I didn't aim to make him desire me;instead, to let me have my way.

He looked me up and down, and sighed."Does anyone object to this motion?"Chief Vandirin said, as his eye grew more red. No one raised their hand, but that's when I saw Laura raise her hand. I wanted to scream when I saw her hand raise.

"I move that the break is five minutes at most"Laura said. I growled.

"Ten"Michael shouted before anyone can second Laura's motion. I sighed in relief.

"Alex second it please"I thought.

"I second his motion"Alex said, and Chief Vandirin nodded.

"We shall break for ten minutes, and ten minutes only. All must be present when the break is over or you shall be removed from this case"Chief Vandirin said and we all nodded. Everyone left their chairs began to exit the court room.

"Alex go talk to Alexis. I have to handle some business"I said as I sped up so I can catch Laura. She was going into the lounging area that was vacant. She sat on a sofa while I stood in the doorway. I glared at her.

"Well well well. If it isn't the player herself"Laura said with a smirk. I realized she died her hair blonde from the last time I seen her.

"What is wrong you Laura?"I asked as I held my anger in.

"Nothing. Why do you ask? Can't a person ask for less time during an intermission?"she asked.

"No"I said flatly. "Your messing with this case, that is serious. Hell I'm apart of this shit Laura"I said as I began to raise my voice. She chuckled and I wanted to slap her.

"Tell me AJ"Laura paused and grabbed her bottle of blood. "How long before you move onto the next woman?"she asked with a slight chuckle.

I laughed at this. "So that's what this is about. Laura don't mess up the ruling in this case for your wild emotions"I said.

"Heard your her wife. Your cruel AJ, and its not just about what we once had. You know what its about. Its about what you did to Portia"Laura said. I smirked and her eyes grew red.

"Well I'm sorry for murdering a crazy bitch who went around killing innocent vampires"I said as I could care less. "I was doing my job"I finished.

"Mhhm, and I applaud you"she said sarcastically. Killing a persons lover is not in the JOB DESCRIPTION OF AN HVIC!"she shouted at me.

"Look I apologized for what I did ages ago a-"I said before Laura had me against the wall. Her eyes were red and she looked like she wanted to cry. "I'm sorry Laura, I really am. But don't let what I did in the past affect the ruling of James in this case"I said as I looked into her eyes. She looked at me and let me go.
