chapter 9: friendsthird person's
The morning gleam greeted the three people as they sat in the comfort of their car,
"I don't think it's necessary to pick me up to go to school Eli... did Cal forced you to do this?" Lucine asked as her eyes travelled back and forth between the two boys. Eli let out a chuckle before looking at the younger girl for a short second. Calum looked back at the younger girl with a shocked expression making her let out a chuckle.
"Not really Lu, I figured to drop you off both since I didn't get to do it yesterday." Eli said as his eyes were now focus on the road. "Did you guys' plan this?" The younger girl asks making the boy sitting on the passenger seat pout with a offended expression plastered on his face.
"Plan this like... Cal randomly popping up to my school after you guys just dropped me off back home?" Lucine asked curiously as she played with her fingers feeling quite guilty about the boys' actions. "Luna... I told you already. I came there because I didn't like my old school. I don't have friends there; I feel like an outcast. I transferred at your school so I can be with you-" Calum let out a cough, cheeks heating up as he realized what he just blurted out making the older one beside him let out a smile of adoration.
"I-I mean... yea so I can be with you since you are... close to my age! Yes! You can be my friend... well I mean we already are friends... right?" Calum stuttered causing the older boy beside him let out a few laughs mentally face palming himself because of the actions of his younger friend. "Friends? Am I now ready to have a friend? No, 'more than one' friend?" Lucine thought as her gaze dropped down to her hand making Calum's wide smile fade as he watches her reaction.
"Oh... is it still early?... I'm so-" "Yes Cal, we are friends. I'm happy that you transferred to be with me." Lucine's choice of words immediately sent Calum's cheeks to heat up as he tried covering it up with another cough making the older one eyed the two of them through the rear view mirror. Heart warming as he looked at the two adorable teenagers with a teasing look before chuckling.
"Ayy... I didn't plan on dropping you off both just to be a third wheel on the way." Eli teased, making the two teenagers turn red before facing out the window— away from each other. Calum glared at his older friend before his whines can be heard throughout their whole ride at school.
Lucine nervously tightened her grip at the straps of her bag, "Yah! Lucine!" An annoying voice was heard as soon as Luna entered the hallways of their school. Calum took a quick glance at the younger girl walking behind him giving her a worried look. Luna only gave him a small smile before walking in a different direction to not give away their friendship to the other students.
