chapter 6: togetherthird person's.
Clutching the strap of her school bag Lucine faced her step mother, letting out a deep breathe as she tries to calm down herself from panicking. It's her first time seeing her step mother after the boys dropped her off yesterday, she was quite nervous for herself to face her mother, she tries to readies herself from the scolding and physical abuse that she could get but surprisingly she got none.
Her step mother simply gave her a cold look before gulping down some wine straight from the new bottle she just opened, and just like Luna expected no one cared about her even if she was gone for so long. It is as if no one even noticed that she was gone, as if she didn't even exist at all. That thought made her wonder what would happen if the boys didn't save her from that night.
Would someone cry for her death? Or would they simply continue to move on for their lives and didn't give a mind at her at all. Quickly putting her dark hair in a pony tail, she removed her school bag before starting to make a breakfast for two. It became a part of her morning routine, preparing food for her step mother who usually drink from time to time.
Being called useless that night is the opposite of she was, she always does the chores along with her studies. She always cleans up after her step mother's mess, she hated how the older put up an act infront of her father as if she is the most perfect kind hearted woman in the world when she's not even close to being that.
"You know.. having you not around is actually kinda helpful." Her step mother said before closing the bottle of wine placing it to the table before looking at Lucine. The sound noise coming from her step mother frightened her a bit, silence entered the room once again as you could only hear the water heating up from the kettle.
"I could do anything I want." The older said as she sat down on one of the dining chairs, Lucine felt her heart starting to palpitate as her trembling hands started to make coffee. "Bring boys aroun-" She immediately turned to her step mother with a confuse look dropping the teaspoon to the counter before walking towards the dining table.
"Are you cheating on my father?" She asked looking at her smirking stepmother, Lucine felt her fist clenched as her step mother stood up slowly before walking towards her. Her heart beating rapidly as the kettle started to make a noise signaling that the water is already boiling hot. "How could you interrupt my talking?" The older's hand touched her chin harshly making the younger girl look into her eyes.
"That was so bizarre of you to not notice." She said before chuckling, Luna pushed her step mother's hands from her before backing away slowly. "It was so obvious, I mean come on your dad's alright. Just alright though." She said before tucking a piece of hair strand behind Luna's ear.
