ZACH
"I think we're really here. The music inside is way too loud. It's calling me to party!" Clark cheered.
He's really too excited. Earlier today, he woke me up at 6 am and told me to prepare and get dressed. Like who wakes up at 6am for a party that starts at 1?
Well, not me.
"We're not here to party, Clark. We came for business." I said.
"You came for business. I came to party. I'm not the one writing the article. You are."
"Whatever." He got a point. "Wait, I'll call Penelope." I dialed Penelope's number and she immediately picked it up.
"WHERE ARE YOU?!" Wow, I'm still not used to this.
I pulled my phone away from my ears. Somebody has to teach this girl how to answer a call.
"We're at the address you sent me."
"CAN'T HEAR YOU. JUST COME INSIDE!"
Thank God, I decided to pull away my phone from my ear before she can respond.
But, I'll let this one pass. The music in the background is really loud.
We went inside and there are lot of people here. I don't really give much attention to these popularity stuff, not until I met Penelope so I do not recognize most of their faces, but Clark seem really into this stuff because his pointing at random people.
"That's Veronica Martinez, Grade 10. President of the Cheering Squad." He pointed at a blonde skinny girl.
"Cute, right?" He asked and I nudged him.
We continued walking and he suddenly whispered, "That man over the kitchen countertop is Jake Xyler, Grade 12 Basketball captain."
That man is probably the tallest one here.
"And the one he's talking to, is Ken Fisher, Grade 12. He's a new student and he came from Los Angeles." Clark added. "And did you know how did he become popular?"
"No," I shrugged and went closer to him. I can't really hear him well since the music is really loud. "How?"
"Well, he just brought his Audi R8 on his first day of school and he became an instant celebrity." He said in amusement.
" What's an Audi R8?"
"Oh man, you are helpless." He said, shaking his head.
Do I really need to know about that stuff?
"It's a sports car, you idiot!"
"Whatever, that wouldn't save my scholarship. Let's go find that Penelope."
There are a lot of people in this mansion. Couples, making out. Girls in their bikinis, gossiping by the living room. Men at the kitchen, drinking.
We walked towards the pool and boy, there are three massive pools overlooking the ocean.
"Are we in a resort or something?" Clark asked beside me.
He looked so amused at what he is seeing right know and I can't blame him.
"Last time I checked, it's Kyle's house."
"It must feel like heaven living in a house like this." I nodded in agreement.
There's a machine making foams and bubbles, an outdoor barbeque grill, spas and waterslides, and a lot more.
Now, where is that Penelope? How will I be able to find her in this sea of people?
I'm getting the feeling that these "populars" here right now are not only those that come from our school. I think they invited those from the other universities as well.
I looked around and finally I saw her in her resting bitch face, arms crossed, and eyebrows raised.
I guess she's back to being that Penelope I used to know. It seems like last night didn't even happened.
I looked over Clark who is now eyeing this girl in a red bikini so I grabbed him so that I could go to Penelope.
"Bro, wait. That's Danica Averallo, she joined Campus Queen last year but lost."
"Okay, whatever. Let's just go Penelope and get our business done here, okay?"
"Fine. You're such a kill joy!"
We walked towards Penelope who's talking, no wait, she's fighting with this girl who is wearing the same outfit as her.
This seems interesting.
"I ain't insulting you. I'm describing you." the girl spat and crossed her arms as well.
Clark whispered, "That's Clare Lastimosa. One of this year's CQ candidates."
That's why she looked familiar. I might have read about her when I did my research.
"Oh, bitch please. You're so fake, even Barbie is jealous." responded Penelope.
Okay, this is intense! It's like watching a rap battle, but without the rap.
People are starting to come over to watch this two girls dissing each other now. Even the DJ at the Music booth lowered the music down.
"No, you brought the same outfit as mine because you're jealous of me."
Penelope rolled her eyes. I knew it was coming.
"Me? Jealous? Bless your delusional heart, sweetie. I can buy every outfit a mall has to offer. Oh, wait! I think I might as well just buy the mall itself."
"Bitch, if you think you're perfect, then I'll have to inform you that you're not."
"Actually, you know what? You're right. I'm not perfect, but I'm so close to being one that it freaks me out sometimes."
Not gonna lie, that was a nice comeback. I'm actually impressed!
"If this was a TV show, the title will be 'Bitches dissing Bitches'. Does it sound good?" I heard a man say behind me.
"No, this is better than any TV show, bro!" Another man said.
"Anyway, I'm cheering on Penelope. She looks so composed. It seems like she's handled a lot of bitches in her life before."
"Yes and bro, look at that big boobs at fat ass. She got so blessed in that department, huh?"
"Any guy will be so blessed to have a girlfriend with a body of a goddess like hers. And her skin? Bro, it's flawless."
I can feel my face turning red. These boys are nasty. I don't think they're here to watch these girls diss each other, but to satisfy their lust.
I don't want to make a scene, so I tried to compose myself but for some reason, I feel like punching someone today.
"You, okay?" Clark asked. I forgot he's here.
"Yeah, I'm cool."
"Why are you rolling you're fist though?"
I looked over my fist and he's right. I didn't even realize that.
I took a deep breath.
I don't think today's gonna be a good one.
