ZACH
It's Monday. I woke up early today and made breakfast for everyone. Now, I'm just watching the morning news waiting for the others.
Auntie, the kids, and Penelope are still asleep. Usually, I don't wake up early but today, I prepared something exciting.
And by exciting, it means that it's either Penelope will like it or will despise me for it.
Mang Thomas, a family friend, called me earlier. He was the person I asked for help to come and fix Penelope's Car. He's a mechanic expert who loves inventing and fixing random things.
Earlier, he told me that the catalytic converter of Penelope's car needs to be repaired and the reason why it was damaged is maybe because the car was being forced to run at a low or empty gas tank.
I'm not really sure what that means. I'm no car expert, but he assured me that he'll find a way to fix it this week so that when Penelope decides to go home, it will be ready for her to use.
I can't believe how Penelope can spend thousands whenever she goes shopping but can't even spend some money to fill up her gas tank.
Speaking of Penelope, we actually had fun yesterday. I really think that the ground rules I set was helpful.
Yesterday, I taught her how to make cook a scrambled egg. I really tried my best to be patient with her because it looks like that was her first time cracking an egg.
"Wait, do I use a knife?" She asked, confused.
I can't help but laugh. "You don't need to use a knife to crack an egg, silly."
She glared at me, "Stop insulting me and just teach me. Please."
"Okay, you got too much energy today."
"Oh, shut up. I'm enjoying this!"
I showed her how to crack some eggs and after a few tries, she got it right.
"This is fun! I want to crack some more!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"No, let's trying preparing the pan this time."
"But I'm just getting the hang of this!" She insisted so I gave in.
That was a new side of her that I discovered yesterday.
Penelope is really smart. She's a fast learner and is not afraid to try on new things.
"Kuya Zach, why are you smiling?" I looked behind me and saw Alyssa who just woke up.
Smiling? Why would I?
"Good Morning!" I greeted her enthusiastically.
"Good Morning Kuya!" She greeted back.
"Where's your Ate Penelope? Is she still asleep?"
"Yes, she's even snoring."
What? Penelope? Snoring?
I can't help but laugh.
I know snoring is normal, but I couldn't imagine someone like Penelope snores.
"You seem happy today, Kuya. What's up?" She asked and sat beside me. "Is it because of Ate Penelope?"
"What? No way!"
Alyssa frowned. I think she was surprised by my reaction.
"I mean, I'm always happy." I added.
