PENELOPE

"Eww, you look terrible girl." Vanessa commented after we finished our last subject for this morning. I merely shrugged.

As much as I wanted to disagree, well, she's right.

It's because I wasn't able to sleep well last night, thinking about new ideas for my campaign but then, I failed. I really can't think of anything new.

"It's lunch guys," Trixie announced as soon as our Physics Teacher left the room. "Let's go?" she asked.

I fixed my things and did some light make up retouch.

I'm so pretty, I don't really have to do a lot on my face. Can't help it.

I checked my phone and I saw that Jared has sent me a message saying that he can't join me for lunch.

Again

I replied him with an "Okay" and turned to the girls, "Let's go."

I thought having no ideas for my campaign is worst, but seeing all these posters and slogans from the other candidates scattered along the walls of the school's hallway are making me feel sick. It seems like they have really prepared for this pageant and that totally pissed me off.

"PENELOPE! WATCH OUT!" It was Vanessa's voice. I didn't know what she meant by that when suddenly, I felt something wet and sticky around me.

Wait, that didn't sound right.

I processed everything that happened for the last few seconds and yelled, "OH. MY. GOD."

I just realized that I'm covered with spaghetti and I smelled like coke. Fries are on my hair, too.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I asked, no I yelled to the boy in front of me. He faced me and he stared blankly at me.

"Hey?!" I called him again but it was useless. He seemed lost at the moment.

Suddenly, the boy beside him called his attention, but it seems like he's still lost.

What is he even thinking?

I asked him if he's even listening while Trixie and Vanessa helped me with my dress.

I couldn't contain my anger. I'm angry not only because I feel dirty but also because it seems like I'm talking to nobody.

"Is my face so beautiful that you can't stop staring at it?" I played cool and people around us started laughing.

I know that I'm gorgeous enough, but does he really have to stare that long?

Am I that beautiful? Of course, I am.

He started explaining but then I felt more pissed than ever so I raised my voice. "REALLY? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO I AM?"

The boy beside him walked away. Coward.

After I said those words, I heard someone say, "Is that Penelope? She's a CQ candidate, right?"

I froze.

For a moment, I forgot about the pageant. I forgot that I have to make people like me. I need them to win.

He started explaining again so I took that chance to pretend to be the kindest and sweetest person in the planet, saying that it's okay and that it was an accident

After all, I'm good at pretending. I can do this with my eyes closed.

He seemed confused by my actions, and I smiled victoriously as I felt his tensed muscles then I slowly leaned towards his ear and whispered,

"Do you really think I'll let this one pass? You'll have to pay for this. BIG TIME."

And I meant what I said.

I walked out, leaving Vanessa and Trixie behind. I have to clean myself before my afternoon classes begin.

I hurried towards my locker. It's across our classroom, 2nd floor. Good thing, I always bring extra clothes with me in case I don't feel wearing the clothes I wear for my morning classes. But this time it's different. This is actually the first time I met into an accident like this.

As I walked, there were a few people who stared at me like it's their first time seeing me like this. Well, it really is though. I tried to give them my sweetest smile as I passed through them.

Fake it, till you make it, Penelope.

Finally, I reached my locker. I immediately grabbed a white dress and hurried towards the nearest washroom.

I was about to enter into a cubicle when I heard some noise on the last cubicle. Wait, It's not just any noise but a moan! It came from a girl's voice.

WTF!

"Hmmm." I heard it again, and this time it's much louder. Whoa, how can they do it here? Inside the School campus?

For Pete's sake! How cheap! Can't they do it in a motel or something?

I started walking outside on tiptoes, making sure that I won't be making any noise so that I don't disturb their session. This is the least of my priorities right now.

Suddenly, the door of their cubicle creaked. Someone's opening it!

I hurried to the nearest cubicle, closed the door quietly and locked it. I seated on a closed toilet pretending to be using it.

Really a good pretender, Penelope. Keep up the good work!

I heard footsteps outside and suddenly, a girl's voice said, "See you later babe!"

Then I heard her footsteps fading away.

She's gone. Thank God.

I was about to open the door in the cubicle I am occupying when I remembered that she's with a guy. My curiosity is killing me so I decided to peek below the cubicle door. I never did this before but whatever.

I bent my body and waited for the footsteps. When I heard it, I covered my mouth with my free hand to make sure that he won't hear any gasps from me. I saw an unfamiliar red rubber shoes passing by.

All of a sudden, he dropped his phone just right in front of my cubicle.

SHIT!

I immediately stood up and unfortunately, I accidentally hit the cover of the toilet. It made noise!

I didn't know what to do. If I pretended to sit in the toilet, he might accuse me of invading their intimate "session", which I DID NOT, obviously

But if I keep my shoes hidden, he will be wondering why there is a noise inside the locked cubicle, right?

Goodness! I'm trapped!

Suddenly, I heard him picked up his phone and walked towards my cubicle. TOWARDS ME!

OH GOD! HELP!

"Yo? What are you doing inside here?" I heard someone say from the outside.

To whoever you are, Thank you! Thank you! OH MY GOD! My heart is beating so fast right now! I've never been in this awkward situation before.

"Tss." that was the only thing he said and walked away.

I let out a sigh of relief. THAT WAS TOO CLOSE!

I hurriedly changed my clothes and went outside the cubicle. I checked my look in the mirror.

What a terrible day!

No campaign plans. Embarrassing canteen scandal. And an unexpected R18 moment.

Could there be anything worse than all these?
