"Remember when I mentioned your future children?" He said grabbing a rose from the climbing bramble on the balcony.
Your heart began to sprint.« Why is he talking about this? What did he mean? Is he telling me that he wants to make me the mother of his children ...? Children ... vampires?»
When his eyes returned on you, you panicked. "I AM NOT READY!" you said out loud.
He frowned. "What"You analyzed his spontaneous reaction and huffed. "Uh I mean, I- I'm not ready to hear the rest. I... I just have one last question..."
You swallowed hard and cranked your brain to find a question.
"Why don't you eat me?" You asked with the greatest dismay. He looked at you intently, scanning your soul. Looks like your question got him thinking a lot. He probably didn't know what to say. Or, he was holding back from doing it and you messed it up. You didn't know. He ignored your question as if he had never heard it before. On the one hand, you were relieved that he didn't answer it because it allowed to put an end to the myth of the vampire who can't help but eat fresh flesh every second.
"I promised you they will be spared on the day of the rebellion." He raised the rose to his nose and looked towards the blue moon. You said nothing more, finally letting him explain himself.
"These will not be our children. That's for sure, Y/N. But in the near future your blood will flow to other bodies. These are the lives that will be spared."
You stepped forward and put your hand on his mouth to silence him. You won't let him challenge black magic by revealing his wish.
He removed your hand and chuckled slightly. His eyes twinkled.
"Oh you don't have to worry anymore. I'm not afraid. They're the ones who fear me. I can tell you anything now.""Dio... I know you talk about my offspring, but what kind of thing will they be spared?"
"What is a human so afraid of?" He asked you.
"I don't know... A lot of things... It's part of human being to be afraid..."
"Exactly. And if I ask you the question another way. By feeling your presence here, I could also feel this typical human emotion coming from you. But it looked like you had several reasons for it. Quote them."
You thought for a moment. He was patient and gazed at your lips during this time.
"Well... I was afraid that... you wouldn't remember me... and your new appearance. I was afraid that you would reject me, that you might not be the same person anymore."You opened your mouth in surprise when you saw his jaw tighten for a few seconds. It was the first time he had shown an ounce of "weakness" reaction when hearing you talk about your emotions.
"Uh... but I don't see the connection.""What would you be afraid of if I were a complete stranger?"
You finally understood when he asked you that."To die... To die at the hands other than those of fate."
"It will never be the case again. Neither for you nor for your offspring. If my heart still beats the being is immortal. I am invincible, Y/N! Your child will live forever! You will not have to worry about him anymore. We would thus have all the time to love each other and rule the world together. And you have just come full circle by wanting to let fate take its course. I am the one who writes this fate. So you no longer fear anything."
You didn't even realize what state he put you in by announcing you this promise so strange but overwhelming. You were stifling your tears in your trembling hands soaked in tears which flowed profusely. He sighed and looked around the room. A raven-headed cat entered and gracefully handed him a silk handkerchief.
