"Was this pearl created to protect me from any misfortune?" I asked him directly.
He was silent for a moment and gave me no way to read his face as frozen as ice.
Does he think my question was stupid?"What a stupid question, Y/N. Seriously, lately I feel like I'm talking to a wall. Obviously this doom object is protecting you but you have to get rid of it." He finally spoke.
I continued to stare at him silently, forcing him to continue.
"Y/N, how do you see yourself ten years from now? Are there things you would like to have or do?"I raised my eyebrow. "What a stupid question to ask a young girl..."
But I already had the answer deep inside me and her question suddenly made sense.I stood up, detaching the black pearl from my necklace and put it in the center of the tree stump in front of Straizo. I could still feel its weight around my neck.
I cracked my neck as I turned my head all over the place. Uncle Straizo got up too and walked away before everything happened quickly. My body suddenly crackled after a long, strong breath. I felt my lungs heat up, sending a signal to my arteries to boil all my blood. Energy washed over my limbs and I put the full force of the Hamon in my hand. With a quick and precise movement, my fist smashed against the Resurrection Pearl. Before I could even realize, I saw flashes of pictures passing by.
It was all there. All the memories of my past fled by in a matter of seconds. Mom, Papa, my great grandparents, my great aunt... But also mine. Am I leaving? Am I destroying something that was supposed to save me? Maybe my connection to this pearl made me so dangerous to them that they forced me to destroy it... or maybe am I wrong?
I already regretted having acted without trying to understand, until I opened my eyes to face the ceiling of my room."Shit ... isn't she supposed to be rich? She should have some in all this mess!"
I turned my gaze to Joseph's loud whispers, rummaging through my ... closet ...?
"JOSEPH!" Granny Erina growled in a low voice, chasing him towards the exit.
At this point, I had completely lost track of time and the meaning of my life. Why is this jerk in my room and why do I suddenly want to throw up ?!
I got up slowly, holding my head desperately. But my eyes noticed something surreal. The pearl was split in two. The color was a little lighter than the jet black that made it so gloomy.
Little by little, everything came back to me. A strange feeling tightened my throat.I succeeded but I also dared.
"You are alive." snapped me out of my thoughts a voice. The two joestars stopped bickering as they heard Straizo shattered their whisperings. They both turning their gaze towards my bed.
"Please continue. I would like to find out for myself what this pervert is doing in MY room, his nose in MY closet. I'm very curious." I said sarcastically.
"Oh my god. Did we wake you up ?!" exclaimed Granny Erina. She picked up her broom and knocked out her grandson's head frantically. "See what you did?!!"
"I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR A NEW PAIR OF SKI GOGGLES! I LOST MINE! THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!" he defended himself.
Straizo rolled his eyes and placed a plate on my nightstand."You could just ask Straizo or even buy yourself some with all the pocket money you have!" she reprimanded him, pulling him by the ears towards the exit.
Always a pleasure to live with such a moron ...
But my attention returned to uncle. He limped slightly as he went to sit on the chair by your bed. When he grabbed the pearl with both hands, I could notice slight scorching marks on his partially wrinkled hands which came up to his wrists. I knew I had something to do with it and couldn't help but felt bad for doing that to him.
