Final-Girls in the past hadn't always been in the fight, some would just survive and be saved, or would just survive to the last second, or until the sequel. Nowadays final girls often have to defend against their slasher, monster, a supernatural entity, etc. Here are some ways how, but first here are some things you should know.

The Basics

With anyone or thing that can attack you be sure you know

1.Type- If you don't know what you are up against it is harder to determine what will defeat and finally take down your opponent. I will label below the different types of beings you might face.

2.What will stop them- You might need to go through trial and error,  but if you can find a weakness make sure to use that to your advantage.

3.If you need to trap or run- If the being cannot be stopped you might either need to run or find a way to temporarily stop the being. An Example of this is Jason Vorhees, although once human, supernatural forces tend to reanimate him, he has a few weaknesses to stop him if not fully temporarily. He doesn't like anything to do with water due to his drowning so if you go to a place with water he might not get you. The closest that someone has had to fully stop him was to freeze him in Jason X. He was frozen for a long time until it was future time, and a group didn't know his origin unfroze him. If not for those people he would have not harmed and murdered more.

4. Don't back down, if you have the chance to get rid of or stop your assailant do not hesitate, for if you do you may not live to see another day. The best mentality to have for this is it's either them or you.

Human

1. Know what you are dealing with. If your slasher is a regular human that means that they can go down like any human, the possibilities of gaining the upper hand can be easy. Know though if they are crazy you might need to get on their level. Also, beware if there are two or more killers so that you can prepare accordingly. Luckily because they are human they can be taken down by any weapon, as long as you make sure the job is done.

2. Know your enemies might be closer than you think. Sometimes the slasher might be some random person, but most of the time the killer is someone you might know, so be cautious of the people you trust. They could be your friends, your family, someone who is crushing on you, someone you may have ignored.

3. Know how to fight back. You don't have to be trained in self-defense although a little training does help, know that since the slasher is human you can use weapons, make home alone traps, you can fight back. If it comes down to it remember it's either you or them.

4. Be careful. If your movie has a sequel it could be the previous slasher's mom after you or someone who is just a huge fan of the genre, but if there are a sequel others will fill the killer's shoes. The new rules with sequels with be in an upcoming chapter, but know that there are differences, but also they aren't remakes.

Supernatural and Powers

If you are in a universe where the strange and unusual is normal every day you might be in a universe where a telekinetic girl discovers her powers at a prom, the killer is in your dreams, a summer camp brings back a regular who can't be drowned out. Either way, this universe means that stranger things can and have happened. This also means that there are creatures who do more than just bump in the night.

1. Don't bully them, if you are a bully the person with powers will most likely come after you to settle a personal vendetta, whether its because you pushed them around a few too many times, had a personal hand in their "accident", or remind them of their old tormentors it is best not to pick on the potential powerful killer.
