Delilah's P.O.V

The sun was way too bright in Utah. I didn't understand how people could actually live here, and what else I didn't understand was why Austin insisted on taking me out hiking in the desert. At some times I thought he may have been insane. "Auuuuuuustiiiiin!" I groaned for about the twentieth time that day. It was Of Mice & Men's day off, which meant that they had the whole day to do whatever they wanted. Surprisingly, Austin decided to spend his day with me. In the desert. Fifty miles away from the Warped Tour grounds. We had to catch a bus out here, and I'm not gonna lie, it kinda sucked. Every time I complained, Austin kind of laughed and shook his head. Sometimes he said something, along the lines of "We'll find one soon!", and in all honesty, I had no idea what 'one' was. "Please I'm a cripple!" I would joke ocassionally, referring to my broken arm. Every time, Austin would do the exact same thing. Look at me, smile, and pat my arm. Then he would just keep walking. I had this theory that maybe he was some sort of robot, but in all seriousness, I knew he was just determined to show me something he thought was amazing.

Turns out that what he thought was amazing actually is amazing. Austin looked so proud to show me what he had been searching for all morning, and I couldn't take in how beautiful it actually was. Austin dropped his backpack and searched inside of it until he found a large picnic blanket. I ignored what he was doing and went to admire the five metre high sand arch that had formed naturally. It looked like a portal from one of those weird movies. I must've been looking at it for at least a few minutes because by the time I'd turned around Austin had gone to the trouble of setting up a full picnic for us both. With muffins, sandwiches, juice, and biscuits. "Austiiiiin!" I groaned yet another time that day. "You don't have to give me food. I don't like to eat." I complained. It's not like I wasn't thankful that Austin had done this for us, but I honestly didn't want to have any food. I hardly ever ate anything, let alone eat in front of people.

"I overheard the nurse in the hospital say that you'd been underfed for at least four years. She also said something about Anorexia being a concern. Please eat, it'll make me happy." He said sweetly. I didn't want to decline any longer so I sat down and grabbed a sandwich from the bag of food. I ate as slowly as I could. Due to the fact that I hardly ever ate anything, it didn't take much for me to feel full, and Austin seemed to understand that. After only about twenty minutes, almost all of the food was gone, and it was all thanks to Austin. "You're so scrawny yet you eat so much food." I laughed, and Austin proceeded to flex his bicep and make me touch it. "TOUCH IT. IT'S NOT SCRAWNY IT'S FUCKING HUGE." He yelled jokingly. He made me giggle insanely before I began packing up the picnic he had set out.

After that was the longest walk back to the bus stop that you would've ever encounted. It took at least two hours to get there, since we got lost so damn easily. We eventually found it and after two more hours, ended up back at the tour grounds, being greeted by Kellin, Alan, and Phil. "Fuck I'm so hungry.." I heard Austin complain to Alan as we all walked back to the tour bus. I managed to keep my laughter to myself as I crawled inside my bunk and fell asleep.
