My Pov

As the boys started playing, Geoff explained the game to me, and I listened. Geoff obviously was surprised that I listened but didn't say anything about it. They then went to play more until the supper bell rang and we walked to the cafeteria. We all were laughing and fine, but then I felt my monthly start. I suddenly felt nauseous, and I had my cramps. Sarah came and said that I could go eat, but I told her that I wasn't hungry and I really wasn't because of the cramps. Geoff told me to eat, and I said that even though I appreciated his concern that it was between Sarah and myself.

I knew that I had upset him, and I immediately regretted saying anything, but I wasn't feeling up to hearing a whole speech from him about how I should be eating regularly. He apologized for interrupting, and Sarah asked what was wrong. I told her that I hurt hoping that she would get the idea that it was that time of the month and she did. She told me to go to her office and get the supplies and use her jacket to cover up. I take the jacket and walk to her office.

As I was approaching her office, her brother ran up and said," Oh Grace, where is Sarah? I need to tell her something important."

I say," Tell me what happened, and I will make sure that she gets the message."

He said," Okay. So mom died. I came as soon as possible. I know Sarah was close to mom, and that is why I came."

I say," Okay well uhm why don't you wait in her office?" I need to do something before I see her again, but when I see her again, I will tell her and lead her back here so that you can talk."

He said," Okay."

We walked into the office, and it clearly was broken into. Great another fricking disappointment to toss onto Sarah. I grab the stuff and walk to the bathrooms. I change and walk into the cafeteria. I asked if I could talk to Sarah privately, and we walked a distance away from the others.

Sarah says," What happened?"

I say," Okay, first your office was broken into, and secondly, your brother is waiting for you in your office."

Sarah says," Really. What does he want?"

I say," I don't know how to put it except for he is here because your mom died."

Sarah says," What, you can't be serious."

I say," Have you ever seen your brother serious?"

Sarah says," No."

I say," Okay, well, that means that I am because he was straight faced to the max. He was almost crying."

Sarah starts to cry and says," What that can't be possible. I just talked to her. What are we going to do?"

I say," What you are going to do is to take the next week off to deal with funeral and stuff, and I will stay here to deal with Geoff."

Sarah says," Okay."

I say," Okay, well, your brother is waiting for you."

Sarah says," Okay."

We walk to her office, and her brother jumps up and hugs Sarah. They start to cry, and I look away to give them some privacy.

A little while later, an officer radios in and asks for the key to Geoff's cell, and Sarah tells him that I will be down with the key and that he could leave if he wanted. 

Sarah says," Okay, Grace, go take care of him, and here is something for the pain when you need it. I will be back sometime, but if you need anything, just call for a guard. But I know that you got this."
