The Town That Changed Everything (Ichabod X Reader)

Case Solved

The next day, Ichabod and Y/N were in the carriage, going back to New York. "Ichabod...If you don't mind me asking...what is that under your coat?" Asked Y/N after a couple of minutes of silence. "Oh, this? Just a book Katrina gave to me. I decided to keep it, just in case..."

"Can I see it?" Asked Y/N and Ichabod handed it to them.

'A COMPENDIUM OF SPELLS, CHARMS AND DEVICES OF THE SPIRIT WORLD'

That was written on the book. "Why do you need a charm book?" Asked Y/N curiously. "I don't. She just insisted on me keeping it. For protection or whatever." Answered ichabod and closed his eyes, ready to take a nap. Y/N sighed and opened the book. As she was looking through the pages, she remembered the Evil Eye. It had to be somewhere in there. Something about it had to be written in that book. She quickly turned the pages and found the page where the Evil Eye was explained.

'For The Protection Of A Loved One Agains Evil Spirits'

Y/N suddenly froze. "Ichabod! Wake up!" She yelled and shook him awake. "Huh? What happened?" Asked ichabod confused once he was awake. "Nothing happened, you idiot. When she gave you this book, didn't you care to look through the pages?" Asked Y/N frustrated. "No?" Answered Ichabod even more confused than before.

"Well of course not. Look at this. She was trying to protect us with the evil eye." Said Y/N, showing him the page. Ichabod was shocked. He opened the window of the carriage and told the driver to go back to Sleepy Hollow, and so he did.

They ran out of the carriage and into the Van Tassel house where Baltus and Lady Van Tassel's coffins were. They opened them and saw the dead bodies. Y/N quickly grabbed the dead woman's cut hand while Ichabod stood next to her and both saw it. The dead woman's hand was cut after she died. There was no blood flow nor healing, meaning the cut was made after she died. That only meant that Lady Van Tassel was still alive.

They quickly went to the windmill where Lady Van Tassel had brought Katrina and was sacrificing her to the Horseman, while explaining how she had been the one responsible for the killings this whole time.

"Katrina!" Yelled out Y/N when she saw her running out of the windmill, together with Jonathan. The Horseman had arrived, so they all ran back into the windmill.

"To the roof! I have and idea." Said Ichabod and they all ran, leaving him last. Just as they got on the roof, Ichabod threw a lantern through the window and the landmill started burning.

After they got down on the ground, Jonathan asked: "Is he dead?"

"That's the problem. He was dead to begin with. I believe Ichabod was just saving us some time." Said Y/N in response as she watched the horseman barge out through the burned up door.

They got on the carriage and rode to the Tree of the dead, with the Headless Horseman following them. Ichabod managed to loose him for a while, but just as they got there, Lady Van Tassel arrived on a horse, with a pistol. She shot at Ichabod and held onto Katrina, waiting for the horseman to take her head. As Ichabod was laying on the ground, Y/N launched at Lady Van Tassel and pushed her off the horse, helping Katrina get away.

In the meantime, Ichabod was watching all of that. He wasn't dead. The book from Katrina that he had put in the pocket on the inside of his coat had stopped the bullet.

"Thank God you're alive!" Cried out Y/N while higging him tightly. Jonathan had knocked out Lady Van Tassel with a piece of wood, knocking the Horseman's skull out of her hand. The skull that he was searching for this whole time. Ichabod quickly grabbed it and threw it at him. The horseman let go of Katrina, put his head back on and it transformed from a skull to a fully shaped human head with flesh. After he got what he wanted, he grabbed the unconcious body of Lady Van Tassel and jumped into the tree, completely crushing her.

The case was solved. It was finally over. The horseman got what he wanted and Y/N and Ichabod, together with Jonathan Masbath were in a carriage, heading back to New York. They also invited Katrina to come live with them because she had lost her family, but she denied. She wanted to stay in her home town.

"Wake up, we are here..." Whispered Y/N to Ichabod once the carriage had stopped. "Ah, just in time for a new century!" Said Ichabod half awake. They were finally home. Now, they both had each other. They had something they never even thought of before Sleepy Hollow. I would say, they always subconsciously knew, but the town sort of...opened up their eyes. Showed them how mych they actually cared for each other and loved each other.
