"Hey, wake up! Quick!" Y/N felt someone shaking her awake. She jumped up and looked around the room. First, she saw Ichabod. He was the one who shook her awake. Then, she saw that it was six in the morning. "Sorry for waking you up, but I need to tell you something important that I have just found out. The evidence. It's gone. You know where I put it yesterday. It is not there anymore. I suspect Katrina. She might've taken it. She was in my room yesterday and she saw where I put the evidence. It is about her father, so she of course would want to protect him. But it also may be her mother. Remember the...ritual..." Said Ichabod. "Very nice of you to notice. It was obvious that they would take it." Said Y/N while jumping out of bed and running around around the room, grabbing her clothes. "Where is Katrina, by the way?"

"I don't know, she's not home. Why?" Asked Ichabod. "Well, I kind of want to find her and maybe talk to her." Answered Y/N and took a dress that was laying on a chair. Ichabod awkwardly turned around and started walking towards the door, since he noticed that Y/N was about to change. "Oh, you can stay, I don't mind. I want to tell you something anyway." Said Y/N. Ichabod turned to her surprised. "Oh, um...Right." He said and sat on a chair. "So..." Started saying Y/N and took off some of he4 clothes. Not all of them, of course. "If we go back to New York like they want us to. What do you think will happen? Both here in Sleepy Hollow and New York."

"Well um...The horseman will continue murdering people and we will probably not get the money they promised to give us. They are also going to make fun of us, even more than they already are like." Said Ichabod, nervously avoiding looking at her. His eyes were shifting from the floor to the wall, to the dresser and back to the floor.

"So, we are not going back then?" Asked Y/N after she was done getting dressed up.

"I don't know..." Mumbled Ichabod. Y/N sighed. They walked out of the Van Tassel house, got on their horses, and the first destination was the old Van Tassel house.

When they got there, they saw Katrina. She was burning the papers. The evidence. "Katrina. Why did you take the evidence?" Asked Ichabod frustrated. "So you don't have it to accuse my father."

"Look, we are not accusing anyone. But if there is guilt, we cannot alter it, no matter how much it grieves us. And no spells of yours or- no spells of yours can either." Said Y/N calmly.

"Exactly. Your father has the motive. It is he who stands to profit from these murders." Added Ichabod.

"If you knew him, you wouldn't have such harsh thoughts about him." Said Katrina.

"There is a reason why we are saying this and thinking this. But if you don't want to help, go ahead and burn something else too." Said Y/N and got back on her horse. "I do want to help. Wanna know why? Because I care so much for both of you. But both of you are blinded by some 'evidence' and a big missunderstanding. Just use your brains wisely." Said Katrina, got on her horse and rode off.

"She has a point. We are working without completely looking into it." Said Y/N. Ichabod didn't say anything and just went back to the house. Y/N followed him.

When they got to the house, they walked in, but Katrina was nowhere to be seen. They walked into the kitchen to get breakfast, but there, they saw Lady Van Tassel. They talked for a while with her while they ate and then they asked her where Katrina was. "In her bedroom. When she came home this morning, from wherever she was, she told me that she will not see you." She answered. Y/N and Ichabod started walking towards the kitchen door when suddenly, she stopped them. "It would be polite of you to ask what happened to my hand. Or were you too careless not to notice..." They just froze and exchanged worried looks and Y/N then said "Right...How did you.."

"I know you saw me...Last night...But both of you, promise that you won't tell my husband what you saw." She whispered, paused for a second and then whispered loudly. "Promise!" That made both Y/N and Ichabod jump and at that moment, Baltus barged in the room.

"The town is in ferment! Horror piled on the tragedy. Hardenbrook is dead..." He said. "Dead?" Mumbled Y/N. "Hanged himself." He added. "Hardenbrook? That poor old man?" Asked Lady Van Tassel, pretending to be sad and sorry about it. "I think you two should go back to New York. It's what is best for you." Added Baltus, looking at Y/N and Ichabod. Ichabod and Y/N just turned around and slowly walked out of the room.

"Well, that's nice..." Mumbled Y/N when they were in the hallway. "I'll go to my room to think. You can come too if you want to..." Said Ichabod and Y/N followed him to his room. They sat on his bed and talked for a while. "Do you think Baltus did it?" Asked Y/N. "I do. I am not quite sure actually." Answered Ichabod unsurely.

"We're hopeless..." Mumbled Y/N with no joy. "Come on, cheer up." Said Ichabod and hugged her. "Yeah, cheer up. A horseman is slaying heads almost every day, people want us to go back to New York. If we do go back with no solved case, we are losing the little reputation that we have."

"Well, can I do something that will cheer you up?" Asked Ichabod with a smirk. Y/N paused for a second, looked to the floor, looked back at him with a slight smile and kissed him. He kissed back and tightly wrapped his right arm around her, bringing her closer to him. When he did that, Y/N put her hand on his cheek. Then, all of a sudden, Y/N pushed him down on the bed. Now, she was above him. Ichabod was surprised and shocked, but he didn't hate it. He actually quite liked and wanted it, just as much as Y/N did. Both of their hearts were pounding so fast. As Y/N was qbout to kiss him, they both heard loud knocking on the door and quickly jumped up.

"I made some tea for everyone, do you two want some?" Asked Lady Van Tassel.

"That is so thoughtful of you, thank you." Said Y/N, while Ichabod reached for the pillow next to him and quickly put it in his lap.

That evening, as Baltus had told them, there was a meeting in the church where everyone was going to speak out against Ichabod and Y/N. They were just outside the church, watching the people walking into the church when they heard Baltus yelling. "Katrina! The Horseman! The Horseman killed your stepmother!" Ichabod quickly grabbed Y/Ns arm and ran into the church, just like everyone else.

Everyone around them was screaming, panicking, arguing, breaking windows so they can shoot and kill the already dead Horseman...They were just looking at the chaos trying to figure out what to do next. Y/N was rubbing the back of both of her ears.

They both then saw something outside. The Horseman couldn't enter the church! They spotted the three old men arguing and went to tell them about it. As Ichabod was telling them, Baltus grabbed the gun out of Ichabod's coat pocket and aimed it at the two other men.

Y/N and Ichabod decided to back away and stay out of the situation since they didn't want to get murdered by an old man who has lost his dear mind. They just sat on the church chairs and stared at the three men slowly kill each other. Only Baltus was still alive.

He walked in front of the window and as he was standing, something from outside suddenly stabbed him. Everyone stayed silent and shocked, except for Katrina. She screamed and ran to him, but the Horseman dragged him outside the Church and cut his head off. Katrina, Y/N and Ichabod saw it all. As that was happening, Katrina fainted. Ichabod looked at her hand and saw pink chalk. There, in the middle of the church, was the Evil Eye, drawn with pink chalk. Y/N, Ichabod and Jonathan put two and two together and it turned out that Y/N's assumption about Katrina was correct...
