The day after the accident, Ichabod was still unconscious and Y/N was sitting in her room, solving a puzzle to get her mind off of things, when she got informed that Ichabod had woken up and was looking for her. She immediately jumped out of bed and walked to Ichabod's room.

"Y/N! I've figured something, I don't know if you noticed or not." Tried saying Ichabod while Y/N was standing next to his bed. "Later, you need to rest now..." Said Doctor Lancaster, but Ichabod continued. "The Horseman doesn't kill at random-"

Suddenly, Katrina walked into the room. "Katrina! The Horseman was not set to kill Brom or me. Had Brom not attacked him...I tried to stop Brom..." He said while looking at Katrina who had just walked through the door all confused and handed Y/N something to give to Ichabod. Medicine or something. He then stopped, laid back down because his shoulder hurt a lot and then got back up and looked at Y/N.

"The Horseman doesn't kill at random. His victims are chosen by someone who controls him. The person that stole his head. His skull. The one that knew where to dig. Someone of flesh and blood, as I've always said."

"Yes, I know. I've figured. Drink this..." Said Y/N and carefully gave him the drink. Just as he drank it, he fell asleep.

Y/N stayed and watched over him the whole time. Maybe three hours or so. Suddenly, as she sitting next to him on his bed, he jumped up. He was terrified of something. Y/N figured it was probably a dream that he was having. "You were dreaming." Mumbled Y/N and hugged him, holding him tightly. "Yes. Things I have forgotten and would never like to remember." Said Ichabod.

"What did you dream?" Asked Y/N curiously. "My mother was innocent. Child of nature. She was murdered by my father. Murdered to save her soul. By a Bible-black tyrant behind a mask of righteousness. That's why I lost my faith when I was only seven. That is why it is all just sense and reason for me now." Said Ichabod while staring at one spot in the room. "That's horrible..." Replied Y/N. "Indeed. I should not have come to this place where my rational mind has been so controverted by the spiritual world. Actually, we should not have come to this place. Have you been having dreams like this?"

"No, I haven't." Replied Y/N. She had gone through some religious trauma which Ichabod knew about. Her grandfather. She used to stay at his house a lot as a child because her mother used to be in a coma for almost two years and her father didn't really take care of her very well. Y/N didn't remember him and the things he had done, but they knew that he used to drink a lot. He stopped when her mother woke up from her coma. That cheered him up, so he didn't see a reason to drink depressingly anymore.

But before he got better, he would take Y/N and their sister to their very religious grandfather's house. He would make them do a lot of religious stuff. He would beat them up and do other brutal things to them when they didn't obey him. When they didn't want to do all the religious things he had told them to do. One of those things were staying on their knees for an hour and praying in front of a cross. Their knees hurt and besides, they found it ridiculous.

"Maybe it's because I remember everything very well... I don't think that there is a thing about my grandfather and all of the ridiculous religious things he used to force me to do that I don't remember." Added Y/N. "And, yes. We should not have come here. But...Are you not gonna take anything that means to you from Sleepy Hollow?"

"Well, not nothing. Something...someone that I used to have, but not in the way that I want to have. Sleepy Hollow just made me realise how much I just loved her." Said Ichabod confidentially with a soft smile. Y/N smiled back, knowing what and who he was talking about. She were a bit shocked though. They both were going through the same thing. Both of them realised that they love eachother in Sleepy Hollow.
