Waiting

(Sirius' POV)

I sat there, in the living room of James and Lily's house, worried. When we had got there, Madam Pomfrey had promptly kicked us out, and although we protested, she wouldn't budge. I mean, what type of human kicks you out and then also refuses to tell them if their friend is going to live or not! Especially when two members of the group are more than friends, if you get my drift. I'm on my ninth cup of coffee, and we've still not heard anything.

"Come on you three, go to bed. We've got more than enough bedrooms. Oh don't look at me like that. I know that Moony's hurt, but you lot sitting here, doing nothing and just tiring yourselves out, isn't going to help, is it. Madam Pomfrey said she'd call is the minute she could. So let's just go to bed, shall we?" Lily sighed. After receiving glares from the group (mostly me), she continued with "and if you don't, I shall have to kick you all out. You'll  enjoy sleeping outside, I'm sure."  She turned on her heel, and walked out. Eventually, James rose to his feet, and went to follow Lily, but he stopped, following two loud gasps.

"James! You can't!" I gasped, appalled.

"Dude look, Lily made some good points, us sitting here, isn't helping him in any way. We won't be able to go and see him anyways until Pomfrey calls us, especially if we're too tired. Plus, Lily and angry sex is something I can really get behind right now." James replied. After more glares from me, he sighed and left. Pete followed him, saying

"Wake us if you hear anything, ok mate?"  I nodded. I sat here there for a while longer, alone, until Lily came back out.

"Can't sleep?" I asked her.

"Nope. James is snoring like a pig." She replied.

"Not much out of the ordinary then."

"Have you-"

"Nope. Nothing." I replied, rather sharply. We sat in silence until a patronus appeared in front of us.

"Can't sleep?" I asked.

"Nah. James is snoring like a pig." She replied. I nearly chuckled.

"Nothing new then." We sat in silence for a while longer, until (at about 3 o'clock) a patronus appeared in front of us, and Madam Pomfrey's voice echoed out 

"I've stabilized him. Hes going to live. He is sleeping currently, but I see no reason for you not to visit." I let out a sigh of relief and heard Lily do the same next to me.
"Shall we go and wake the others? You know they'll be pissed if we don't" said Lily

"I know" I rose slowly from my chair and stretched out. Lily came back with the boys following her yawning.

"You alright pads?" James asked. I looked up and flashed him a smile. He looked at me suspiciously.

"Yah, I'm fine. Let's go see Moony, shall we?" We stepped into the floo, an flooed to the Hospital wing.
