Two bodies were buried under the stark white blankets. They were asleep peacefully without another worry in the world. Their chests were rising and falling in sync. The soft light of the morning sun escaped through the curtains and fell on them.
A content sigh escaped Felix's in his sleep. He had never been so comfortable in his life. The dog that he was hugging provided a natural heater for him. Her soft fur and the fresh smell of conditioner was comforting in so many ways.
Without even realizing it, the body snuggled closer towards her trying to get as much warmth as possible. A sigh of satisfaction left his lips which in turn woke up the huge dog. Brownie flicked her ears at the sound and lifted her head to sniff for any danger.
Brownie tried to move around but her attempts only encouraged the boy to snuggle closer. She lifted her head and turned back to see Felix smiling in his sleep.
She whimpered softly. He looked so peaceful but he needed to wake up soon. Not knowing what to do, Brownie licked the side of his face. The boy groaned softly in his sleep. Brownie recoiled away from him once she heard his deep voice. But when he opened his eyes, he flashed her a blinding smile. He was still sleepy.
The boy yawned loudly and wished the dog a 'good morning'. He unconsciously lifted one of his legs on Brownie, trying to cuddle his new pet dog. But Brownie squeaked in surprise and wiggled away from him. She lifted her body on all her four making Felix widen his eyes.
Under the morning light, Brownie's fur shone brighter. Felix finally realized that she was a lot bigger than she seemed last night. No wonder she was taking up the whole bed. He eyed her bandaged paw with a slight pity. It needed to be re-bandaged. No matter how big she was or how would others react, she was his responsibility now. The boy scratched behind her ears to which she responded by licking his palm. A few minutes passed with him playing with Brownie.
He finally forced himself out of the bed. He went to the bathroom and did his morning business before coming with a fresh set of bandages for Brownie. "Let us get these changed and we can have breakfast afterwards," Felix said as he started to work on her injury. He looked surprised when he saw that the wound was almost healed. The cut was already closed, only a little bit of reddish bump was visible. But Felix bandaged her anyways.
"Let's eat some breakfast, okay?." Felix tried to pick her up and groaned realizing how heavy she was. "Damn! You are heavy," Felix lifted her up with some effort. His countless days in the gym was finally paying up. Just when he was about to start walking, the door to his room opened. Both Felix and Brownie stared at the newcomer with wide eyes. There stood none other than Seo Changbin with a luggage and a packet of chips in his hands. The trio froze in their places, not exchanging a single word.
Changbin's eyes shifted between his old friend and a ridiculously big dog. Felix gulped down the awkwardness and Brownie simply looked scared.
Changbin dropped his luggage on the floor and brought the chips packet closer to his nose. He sniffed the packet a few times and peered inside it, making sure that it was not drugged. He simply could not believe that there was an overgrown dog in Felix's embrace.
"uhhh, hi?" Felix flashed him a nervous smile, trying to cut off the tense atmosphere.
Brownie watched Changbin as he dropped the packet of chips on the floor and a deep scowl formed on his face.
"Ahhh! Seriously br-?" Changbin was cut off by Felix who placed Brownie back on the bed.
"Wait, listen to me fir-"
"No!"
"Low down your voice, someone will hear us."
"Wha-"
