Chapter 29

Lena's POV

Liam deserved this. After all he'd done for me, for the boys, for the fans, he deserved this song. He deserved to know I'd always be there for him just like he was for me. He needed to know how much the boys and I loved him.

I started to talk.

"Liam, you've loved us through everything. All of us. And I guess what I'm trying to say is that your love for us is..."

And then Harry started to sing. "Better than words. More than a feeling. Crazy in love. Dancin on the ceiling."

He made a face at my brother when he said "crazy in love", and the crowd laughed along with Liam.

Now it was my turn.

"Every time we touch. I'm all shook up. You make me wanna-" Liam gasped- "how deep is your love? God only knows."

I held the microphone up to Liam and he sang one word. "Baby!"

Then I took it back and all of us-minus Liam-sang.

"Ahhooo! I don't know how else to sum it up. Cause words ain't good enough. Oooh! There's no way I can explain your love. No. Ahhooo! I don't know how else to sum it up. Cause words ain't good enough. Oooh! I can't explain your love."

Then Harry and I sang together. "No!"

Then Zayn. "It's better than words."

We sang oh oh oh in the background.

"Better than words." Zayn sang. Liam was laughing hysterically.

"Better than words." Louis sang. "Drive  you crazy. Someone like you-" and he put his arm around Liam-"always be my baby."

I laughed along with Liam as Niall sang. "Best I ever had. Hips don't lie-" he shook his hips-" you make me wanna-" I held the mic up to Liam and he hissed-"one more night. Irreplaceable. Yeah. Crazy. We're crazy."

Then we were all singing together again. "Ahhhooo! I don't know how else to sum it up! Cause words ain't good enough! Oooh! There's no way I can explain your love. No. Ahooo! I don't know how else to sum it up! Cause words ain't good enough! Oooh! I can't explain your love!"

Niall and Zayn:" no!"

Harry:"it's better than words!.....better than words!"

Louis put both arms around Liam now and Zayn held the mic up for him. "Everyone tries. To see what it feels like. But they'll never be right. Cause it's better. It's better. It's better!"

Then I sang, hugging Liam and putting my head against his chest.

"Oooooh. Ooh ooh ooh ooh oooh." I gave him the mic and he took it and kissed my cheek.

"One more time." He said.

And we sang together. "Ooooooh. Ooh ooh ooh ooh oooh, better than words. Aaah."

I felt so safe. I felt so safe in his arms, which was surprising considering I'd been afraid of him when this tour started. I just missed him. Missed knowing hed be there to protect me. I knew he hadn't been gone long, but I was used to him being there every day. I was glad I had him now.

But I'd be leaving soon.

I should be as protective of him as he is of me. He's my brother. I should make sure he never leaves me. I should make sure we stick together. We could have been so close if I hadn't been taken away.

Liam and I sang the chorus together with the boys and the song ended. Then there was the intermission. We only had three songs left. We played them and said goodnight to the crowd before going backstage to leave. Sophia was there, and I had to admit she was very pretty.
