Eirene

Chapter 2

Eirenes POV:
I bolted back to the house stomping around with angry feet like a young child that didn't get their way.Join the army! Urgh! what if I didnt want to join?I slammed my fist down on the side of my clay house feeling it crackle underneath my fist.

"what in the world!?!? Eirene! calm yourself down!" I glared back at her my nose flaring out and my eyes buring red. I was sure smoke could be coming off of me.I pushed the scroll of paper into her chest and stopped off into my room pulling all of my mens day clothes off and sliding into a womens toga taking a ribbon tying my hair up into something on top of my head too angry and lazy to care.

"Eirene!"

"what?" i spat back at her turning like a snarling dog towards her face. she stepped back startled.

"what is wrong with you?"

"the council! they called us to war!" I yelled. She just stood there shrinking up underneath me.

" you wont be in it you know..." she drifted off.

"did you look at the summons?"

"Yes..."

"Then you know my names on there!" I shouted again. watching in regret as she flinched underneath me. I heard a small sob escape her lips her eyes filling with tears. She fell to the floor, I rushed over to her immediately wishing I hadnt spoken so loudly and with a harsh tone.

"Mother?"

Sebastians POV:

"Enter my son," my father bellowed with a huge grin on his face. men and women a like were on the sides of the large throne room, wrestling, and throwing spears. their brozy colored muscles dripping with sweat. I walked up towards my father standing next to him watching as the masses fought and became stronger.

"This will all be yours someday,"

"Father please... just drop it,"

"I want you to know that you will get the throne after I pass,"

"Yes, I know,"

"Then act like you want it,"

"Okay,"

"Im sure your wondering why I called you here?"he looked into my eyes now.

"Yes,"

"Athens is in a war,"

"Which means what to us?"

"They want us to join with them." He looked away at the target where a man screamed realizing a spear had cut deeply into his arm the blood pouring out of him and dripping on the floor.

"Are we joining them?"

Eirenes POV:

"Mother please answer me!" I cried out tears already filling my eyes. She looked at me her eyes red and puffy. before I knew it she was clinging onto me pulling my body onto its knees.

"I knew something bad would happen," she stared into my eyes, "I should never have let your father convince me that you could handel being a man," she rested her head into the crook of my neck sobbing, " now... my... only...daughter..." she studdered in between her body shuddering with each cry out. I sat there for hours holding onto her until she drifted off to sleep. I pick her small body up and lay her down on the bed in her and my fathers room. I walked outside the breeze blowing my dress and hair. I felt so free not wearing constricting clothes. I bent over peeling the leather straps off of my feet and stepped into the dift barefoot wiggling my toes around loving the feeling of earth in between my toes. Stepping out of the shade of the house I began to run straight for the tall grasses, making my way towards the sea so i could think.The sound of roaring water was calling to me and made my feet press harder and quicker on the surface of the earth until I came to the clif where I haulted feeling the wind push up against my back, the dress I had on sailed out infront of me, threatening to throw my body into the air and off the cliff.I turned around and brought myself to the edge lowering my feet slowly around the edge until I felt the sand between my toes. Jumping back off of the rock I raced towards the edge of the water letting the coolness of it rush against my feet and leg. I stepped back a little further and peeled off my toga. then Rushed into the water with my full body and began to swim. I dove down watching the colors of blue change from light to dark.My lungs burned, craving oxygen. Then With a giant ghasp I filled them back up with oxygen. swimming back up to the shore I stepped out and walked my way to the wet sand and lay down feeling the instense heat of the sun drift away as it rolled past the line of the ocean the furthest point I could see.

"What are you going to do Eirene?" I sighed laying my head against the sand. There was no way that I could fight in a war, none. First of all I didnt believe in war of any sort,we should live peacefully with everyone else not just constant killing, kidnapping, stealing anything like that.Secondly I couldnt even fight I knew nothing of the sort. third I needed to protect my family and all the other familys in Athens. I sighed again quickly rising off in the salty ocean and thn pulling my toga back on over myself and climbed my way back up the cliff.If wars what they want so be it, But there was going to be one angry woman standing in their way.

sebastians POV:

"Yes."

"We will be the only real men there though father! You know that!"

"Yes but they are still our ancestors brothers,"

"So!"

"So we must help them!" He gripped my shoulders turning me to face him.

"Fine!" I spat back at him. The people of Athens got themselves into this problem they should get themselves out. its not always my peoples job to have to save their butt. Im sure this makes me a stuck up pig but it angered me how my people would go out at the words of my father and eventually die during battle.

"Your coming with to fight."

"What!?!" What in the world was he talking about I had to stay here and keep the people in order while the king was away.

"I order you to fight along side me son!" He screamed causing a small amount of spit to fly in my face. i watched as his cloak swish behind him in a blur of maroon. I knew that trying to push my will against him. I exited the throne room and sprinted my way out of the castel running towards the ocean knowing that I needed to clear my mind especially If i was going to be heading into war.

Hello lovelys! sorry its taken me so long to update this book but I have been extremly busy with school and sports. I just started boxing so i gotta see how that goes so far learned i can throw a pretty hard punch :). I really hope you enjoyed the chapet.
